Irrelevant

I quoted an article word for word and you called me a liar saying what I said wasn't in the article.

You should apologise

But you didn't quote word for word. In fact the whole emphasis on this thread is to suggest that Sisu would claim 100's of millions and leave the club bankrupt.

A scare tactic based on one line in an obscure article where the sisu spokesman actually says nothing of the sort.

After a 4 month absence you magically reappear rubbishing the club and trying to suggest an agenda to which there is zero evidence.

It has been well noted your absence on match threads and passion for the club.

Who knows what your motivation is to return - one thing is for certain - the clubs interests are certainly not part of your agenda.

To be fair the article here:
http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-taxpayers-could-lose-millions-9616342

does say "Sisu sources have suggested the compensation claim could run into hundreds of millions of pounds." The 2nd paragraph underneath the picture of Seppala.

Whether you believe it is another issue entirely.

You said this;

dongonzalos said:
They are saying the compo would be 100's of millions.
If that's the case they would make money. Building a stadium would cost a small fortune. They would only see a return with significant investment in the playing squad.

There is no shred of' evidence whatsoever to back this up at all. There is no quoted source. Even the article you posted doesn't provide any quotes or evidence whatsoever.

The quote is this;

A Sisu spokesman said: "The Court of Appeal today both granted Sisu leave to appeal and expedited the appeal.
“We will therefore have the opportunity to present the case before a full panel of Appeal Judges very shortly.
“Sisu will not be making any further comment at this time.”

That is what the source said. Oddly though that, the only relevant bit of the article, you chose to ignore

What's the big deal. We are a piss pot club but we get to play in what most people would say is a decent venue. Until we get back up to pushing for top flight football what is wrong with where we are?

They wouldn't simply walk away, they would sell up, so they need to build value in order to have something to sell.

How much value would building a stadium add to CCFC? Would it actually be more than the cost of procuring a site, the build cost and the cost in time and energy to achieve this?

I'd say that's a big ask.

Call me a cynic but I'm pretty sure the comment about hundreds of millions was slyly dropped in by the CET to instill a measure of panic into readers and more hatred for SISU and the club.

After all they can't have their beloved Wasps getting turfed out of their franchise home can they?

If I understand this correctly, the site and building will be financed and owned by new investors. They will own the stadium. If this will be established under SBS&L or outside the group is unclear. I personally would place it outside the group to protect the investors.

A new company acquire a long lease (125/250 yr) to manage and operate the stadium. This company will (definitely) be set up inside the group. Probably owned by Otium.

So basically a construction similar to what was originally the plan at the Ricoh and what sisu tried to obtain through the long battle with CCC/Higgs.

This will make sure the club has a home with a known and stable cost base outside the squad. This is the only construction that will make CCFC worth looking at by potential buyers.

The tricky part is to make sure that the building/land cost does not call for an unsustainable rent payment. One way is to build the stadium to house more than a football team to share the cost, another way could emerge if sisu actually wins compensation through a successful JR 2.0.

Said it at the time about it being hundreds of millions ripped from the tax payers rather than it possibly being council messup to blame if it happened.

Who knows. I would be stunned if they said SISU sources but had not actually spoke to anyone from SISU?

The point is though that is what the article says.

Yet a certain person called me a liar. Saying that is not in the article. when I had copied it word for word from the article

Exactly and that is why certain posters have returned and are continuing their anti ccfc agenda - making statements with zero evidence or foundation.

Of course we don't actually know who these SISU sources are, or the validity of the comment, but the point I was making was that the article does actually say "SISU sources" which was being denied earlier in the thread. If you can't see that in the article then you can't read.

It's a pretty pointless thread anyway, as I have more chance of shitting in the Queen's handbag than SISU have of building a new ground.

The sisu sources and subsequent liquidation theory was already i am pretty sure expressed less than eloquently on another thread.

It's a theory based on nothing.

Without quoting the actual source there is no validity in the argument and certainly no validity that this is the latest mission subsequently followed by liquidation.

Now we do know that a sisu source has said a new ground will be built as that is publically available.

I don't know how anyone can understand anything correctly when they've had one speculative meeting with RBC and have never released a full business plan for a new stadium. I suspect you're not understanding anything correctly. More a case of jumping to a conclusion.

I do wonder about the kind of conversations that went on at CCC and whether they decided in their wisdom that Rugby would be better for the future of the city; better class of people, more affluent, better behaved, etc. Yes, let's be a rugby city.

...or perhaps the conversation was 'adult' based and went along the lines of ... we can be forced to sell it to Sisu who say they can't really afford it or to Wasps who say they can.

In other words Sisu would only take it for nothing so they could make a profit for 'themselves'
It's about time people realised Sisu are not here for CCFC or the fans.
