The interview with Joy is a good start everyone was asking where Joy was and if she would ever communicate to anyone regarding our Club and it's future, yet the moment that interview was released into the paper that interview was ridiculed by so many. I admit that he could have pushed Joy harder in the interview but I think he had good reasons not to.

I would agree with this, anyone who read the article with an open mind would have said that his interviewing technique came across as a little weak, (which is maybe understandable as no one had actually seen the women let alone interviewed her) he reported what was said and was then lambasted for it.

This thread is probably the most embarrasing I've seen and there have been plenty.

Hysterical, witless fools rejoicing at the rumour someone has lost employment.

The Oxford English Dictionary definition of "impartiality" does not match the sky blue talk definition. Definition in here is ACL bias, councill worship and complete disinterest in the football club. If les Reid had not raised one issue with ACL or the council but had labelled sisu the devil incarnate and Seppela an evil witch he'd be praised for his investigative journalism.

MMM we know has form. His staunch and continued defence of the buffoon thorn shows him to be a poster of poor judgement. Summer isle has exposed his inability to comprehend and present facts many times. His hysterical zeal at this latest rumour discredits him even more.

My 'zeal' is not a function of this 'rumour'; it's a view I expressed before, and haven't changed now. I have explained why I don't care much for Reid's fare - primarily arising from his conduct on Twitter. His re-tweeting of material from those who agree with him was, and remains profoundly embarrassing.

As for the label 'a poster of poor judgment', well that appraisal has less of an impact given the credibility of it's originator

You should take it like a compliment, a bit like being called a moaning old git by Victor Meldrew.

The problem with Les Reid is that his articles always had an agenda and bias whilst him professing balance. That agenda was pretty obviously stated on twitter, as if he thought no one could see it.
He made a position for himself at the end where he really couldn't report with any credibility any more.

That saying brings back such bitter memories of the time I caught my wife in bed with my Auntie Maureen and I made her pack her bags.

So what you're saying then MMM is that Les Reid is not allowed an opinion despite the opposition against it? Maybe it was a genuine mistake or maybe his opinion is that the letter is what Les makes it. I have only exchanged a few Tweets with Les, but from reading his article's in which many have been very informative per the subject of CCFC, Les Reid has done really well, I think in fairness he could have pushed Joy perhaps a little harder during the interview, but in saying that Les was the first person to get an interview or even dialogue with Joy Seppala and that itself must be praised.

Yeah, and maybe Hitler was misunderstood and wanted to "kill all the juice".

Seriously Rob, there comes a point where you just have to give in to the weight of evidence.

Coming for a born again member of the Sixfields gospel choir that's a bit rich...
Call me old fashioned but the owner of a business is responsible for its well being.

Anyhow this is a Led Reid thread, has his motley collection of twitter groupies tweeted anything?

He is balanced in his views, as you are in yours. It doesnt mean you are right and he is wrong or vice versa.

Jeez people on here fall out over nothing.

They moan because Reid is biased towards the people who have taken our club away from Coventry. It comes down to who, how and why. It's not just his bias, but "who" he's biased towards. In case you hadn't noticed, quite a few of us are a little bit annoyed with SISU. His "how" also deserves a lot of criticism (see Twitter for a start!) and a patonising, highly subjective writing style. As for "why"-well, he's a local politics hack with a right-wing, private-versus-public (CCC) bias. I happen to be on the other side of that debate, too...

Quite frankly if this news is true and Les Reid has gone, I'll be glad to see the back of him.

His opinions are out of kilter with the vast majority of fans & quite frankly he can stuff his opinions where the sun don't shine.

Yes, more balanced than some. I've said many times SISU take the lions share of the blame. And I blame ACL and CCC for our predicament too. So yes, balanced.

No, not if he touts himself as a reporter. A journalist. He's supposed to present the facts and not, as nowhereleague has pointed out, take a stance for one side or another (right wing, anti public sector). I would give the same opinion if he said Fisher was the devil's spawn and Anne Lucas and her cabinet were disciples of the lord.

If he wants to be like other national and local COLUMNISTS, then he can spout whatever he likes and side with SISU until they put him on the payroll - but as a reporter, he should report the facts and let the readers make up their own mind. The CT editor must surely realise this if the paper is to have any credibility.

You don't think perhaps, that he was granted the first interview/dialogue due to the easy ride he has consistently given her and her organisation?

I have been frank in my appraisal of Reid's offerings on Twitter; but equally wouldn't wish to subscribe to any rumours such as this. However, if any truth of behaviour such as this gathers momentum; it would be interesting to see in what capacity Mr Reid claims he was socialising with personnel he was reporting upon?!?

I agree. Big IF. I don't like the way he's conducted himself on Twitter, but wouldn't cast any doubt as to his honesty. BUT, equally, if there is any truth, his motivation for fraternising would be one for which some sort of explanation would be due, surely?

I hope these rumours aren't the same as Andy Thorn turning up drunk for work.

I don't care for Les Reid's view of the situation, but still I don't like unsubstantiated being spread about individuals. Especially if it costs them their livelihood.

I seriously doubt that. He's been anti council, especially Labour council, for years.
