Sat here this morning just incredibly proud of our club and our support

Whatever happens tomorrow let’s make sure the team and players know that without doubt

I agree. Best season for a long, long time. As you said, whatever happens. Big crowds home and away, great performances, winning more games. Records being broken, star players.

Only downside is it’s costing me an arm and a leg. Luckily I have a spare of each for next season.

Inevitably some will complain if we lose tomorrow and moan about this season.

It’s been a transformative season.
Pitch debacle ( avoided points deduction )
SISU OUT ( Thank God )
Callum’s demise
Held onto our best players
Discovered a few more talented kids
Crowds largely vociferous and growing
Ben Wilson’s record clean sheets
Record attendances
It’s not been boring !

Got my first season ticket for 01/02 and most seasons since then we’ve spent in the bottom half of this division or doing even worse in the lower leagues. The seasons from 2012 to 2017 are a bit of a blur, they were kind of a solid wedge of crap.

This group and its manager however will be remembered and spoken about long after they’ve all disappeared. Yet to shed a tear at football but if we made it all the way I think I would.

Someone at Boro was saying Monday was a tough one for them not for the high stakes occasion but for it possibly being the last time that group of players takes the field. Hadn’t considered that but it struck a chord

The mad thing about that is Callum doyle went to the younger team cup final

The club has grabbed his and the other loan players heart strings - as sheaf is god says - that’s on robins

I’ve said on another thread it’s not momentum that wins games it’s belief

Yeah must admit I’ve spent a fortune following them this season but it’s been brilliant and wouldn’t have it any other way. Most away games I’ve done in my lifetime. Mrs moaning saying you spend more time with them than with me

My first season ticket was 96 season and had one every year since.

i want to be able to say that I’ve had a season ticket in every division down and on the way back up.

I’ve been thinking about this very thing. I wouldn’t describe myself as sentimental but It’s almost the case that I want us to get promoted, mostly so we retain Big Vik and Gus etc.
I was trying to remember what I felt like when Kevin Gallacher left…

I honestly thought the season was doomed. Remember how everything was just going wrong. Injury to O’Hare day before season started, stadium issues, matches postponed, keeper howlers, blown leads, cup exits.. how it then became our most successful championship season ever is mind boggling.

I said at time just let the games in hand be played before deciding one way or other.

You say that but Robins was clearly concerned in August and had criticised the loan quality while also saying survival would be an achievement.

Been such a joy after the early season panic, I knew we had a team that could beat anyone but at that time, we weren’t.
Love the positivity of this last month or so, such a lift for the city and buzzing for all the kids having modern day heroes in the team.

I hope we go up, would be nice to try and keep those players like Vik and Gus, if not, tomorrow for many will be the last time we see this special group of players including the loans, how good is Doyle, he is a special talent.
in Robins and Adi we trust to rebuild but for now, I believe.
Come on, pump it up, the city’s going up

Yep one thing boddy has always been consistent on is that progression is a remarkable achievement
I think getting lucky with McNally was huge as was Doyle’s form
Mainly though we’ve been blessed that yok has become the top striker in the Division and Hamer the best midfielder in the last 6 weeks

I'm waiting for the first person to bump the That's on Robins' thread, in a negative way. Should be a minimum 3 month ban from the forum, whoever it is.

Think Boddy was hedging his bets more like. Didn’t he say that this season would be even harder to compete/survive before a ball was kicked?

Yep-said the same the other day. I will never forget that embarrassment of a team that wasn’t fit to wear the shirt that went down to L2 without a whimper. On the other end of the scale the current crop will be remembered for all the right reasons-even if we don’t make it.

Listen to the latest Nii Lamptey episode for a roll call of the dross that took us down that season. Horrendous squad.

The thing is I’m not sure it’s even comparable. I was gutted when Gallacher left but this feels like a proper era for the club, such is the connection between the team and the fans.
Maybe I am sentimental after all!

I say that because as a boy what got me hooked was that team from the late 90s and I imagine for a lot today of a similar age they have the same.

I did in a way thought we battled well from that chaotic start things looked good until the McFadz injury while on that all be it well earned jaunt to Spain during the World Cup break the wheels came off a bit over Xmas and quickly followed by the COH injury but somehow we managed to stay mid-table, then we moved up and hovered in the 9/10 position for what seemed an age, a little surge again but then came Stoke but at last and little overdue we got a bit of unexpected rub of the green, Ben Wilson’s last gasp equaliser and ironically three days later Hyams last gasp own goal v Preston cost Blackburn four points and put us right back in the frame we grasped the nettle and here we are.
Last Monday was just about the most nerve racking game I’ve ever been through but has set us up for hopefully a glorious finale.

Just think , we will never have this first time in the championship playoff feeling ever again .. it will never feel as surreal as it does right now .. should we gain promotion, it will never feel this good again ... embrace it
