I've noticed on my round the strong smell of dope wafting around the streets more so now than ever before. Today down Walsgrave it was really strong maybe as windows and doors are left open more as its hot. I smoked the stuff myself occasionally years ago,but never liked it really, made me feel tired and lethargic. Are people smoking weed these days because the law isn't bothered about it, and on the estate I was on some youths were smoking spliffs openly.

Where was it exactly in Walsgrave BBR? There's a house opposite where I live and the lad is always toking in his garage. It really annoys me.

The scent followed you everywhere you went ... until you realised it was in your pocket ;-)

Yeah, more plentiful and stronger smelling too I'm sure.

Three blokes walked past us in the Memorial Park yesterday and the smell was SO strong. Really stuck at the back of my throat.

Not keen on the smell anyway, but when it's that pungent it's almost nauseating.

My son is trying to kick the habit. When he lived with me the place stunk of it, I tell him to go outside and smoke it, but its that strong it stays around for hours. The stuff we took years ago was weak compared to this lot they smoke.

They probably haven’t got their ventilation properly sorted in their lofts.

Could be a grow on, hot weather makes ventilation harder and makes it smell more anyway.

Statistically I think number of weed smokers is down, kids tend to do fewer drugs and alcohol these days.

But also, it’s nice to have a doob in the sun

Got talking to a lad who's just been in Winson Green at the weekend, and he said the stuff they smoke in there skunk, leaves them in a zombie state. When I was in there in the 80's rolling tobacco was the chosen drug,Old Holborn and Golden Virginia !

I can smell it all the time to be honest. I live in a student area in fairness, but it is everywhere seemingly.

Did it a bit when I was younger, but the last time was in Amsterdam a few years ago.

Think its both Nick.
But yes Spice is used a lot I hear. The lad that I talked to was one of the lads sent down for the Northampton trouble at the Buffs. He said he was shocked at how some cons were like zombies !

Spice is nasty shit. Shouldn’t be talked about in the same sentence it’s a totally different drug. Just another by product of the illegal market sadly. Same as the increased strength. That’s all prohibition ever does: make it strong and dangerous and cheap.

What sucks here is that you go to a dealer and you tend to get some hybrid of Super Skunk which is pretty hardcore, but it’s a cash crop: grows quick and easy with a lot of buds. I prefer a haze personally which is a lot less heavy, but you get tiny yields, they take longer and they’re harder to get right so none of the garage gardeners grow it. In the Dam I can buy my smoke depending on what I want: light stone in the day, bit of Trainwreck to finish me off before bed. Here you get what you’re given. It’d be like going to a pub and asking for “a pint” and not knowing if you’ll get Kaliber or Moonshine.

If you could repeat all of that again, Shmmeee, but this time in English, I'd be most grateful.

Spice is not cannabis and is the result of outdated legislation. Alcohol is more harmful to health and has a way bigger impact upon society.

I'd rather a beer than a blast on spice!

People grow strong weed because it makes them more money and it’s easy. Prohibition makes these the primary concerns. Every time a drug is made illegal the price goes down and the strength goes up because all regulation goes out the window. And because none of these drugs are hard to make.

If you want less strong weed on the streets, legalise it. This works in Amsterdam.

Spice is nasty shit and nothing to do with weed.

Better?

Better than coming on them. It’d blend right in.
