The worst treatment I have seen our fans give any City player was Kevin Kyle, Simms is getting standing ovations for taking a corner territory by comparison to how Kyle was treated.

19 goals, season before last.. people have short memories..most in the formation with Wright on the left..his goal record is just below Wrights, based on appearances.

Tbf Stern John got dogs abuse at times and was a far far more talented player than Ellis Simms.

What sticks in my mind is Jacob Murphy v Gillingham after he missed the penalty .. very toxic

Yeah, but this isn't the 80s, is it? Stop living in the past.

The player seemingly is a confidence player yet after he scored, was still getting sarcastic jeers when he won headers. How do you think that made him feel?

Whether you like it or not, or think it's important or not, it's not on to do that. Thankfully, the majority commenting on this thread seem to agree with that it wasn't great. We want Simms to be playing well and scoring goals for fun. Jeering him for winning headers isn't going to help.

Things have moved on from the 80s.

Im not living in the past - my point is players now receive vast amounts of money to play.

Fans are entitled to voice opinions. I don’t see why footballers are protected species. Actors get slaughtered if they deliver a turkey performance.

I don’t even think it was very bad. It was a minor incident. Ellis Simms is paid a lot of money. His job is to perform. In any business non performance means the sack. He’s protected from that and so forgive me for not crying to much for such a privileged individual

We just got to all remember that Simms on his day can produce goals like this,

keep the faith and back him.

Those stats are right. Hard to work out how many times/ minutes they have each played, based on how many times on bench...time per game, etc. I think people forget he is only 24, still young for a striker.

May be wrong

Im not , you absolutely have to factor in haji playing out wide in a large chunk of games , his record as a Centre forward in the last 2 seasons is 17 goals in 26 games

I agree on stadium it shouldn't happen unless it goes to extremes such as lee burge and Collins where you have to expect something to be said

But we’ve also got a problem on here with grown men acting immature about football. You’ve got fat couch potatoes on their phones trying to put down Jay Stansfield’s finish on friday just because they don’t like him. “technique was all wrong, I’d have done it better” yeah right.

Then there’s the putting down of teams and leagues: “he only plays for Feyenoord and the Dutch league is crap” or “Rangers and the SPL etc he’s rubbish, he’ll spend his career in the lower leagues” blah blah. If you had a kid playing for those sorts of teams or in those leagues, you’d be so proud, and you know it. So why put them down?

Just some thoughts

You should go to Philadelphia if you think we're bad, they're famous for it and with good reason! They even boo Santa at Christmas!

I am fairly new to this and appreciate it is social media, but why so much negativity? Example..Simms hasn't played since April, I believe. Lots wanted him out. However, he played well tonight, gave his all, scored the winning goal and on another day, with more game time and confidence, could have scored three.. Not just about him. I have seen so many comments about tonight's game, how crap players were. Suggest people rewatch the game..I do go, I watched tonight on TV. Some Great performances from Andrews, Rafa, Brau, but they get slagged off, why? Even Bid well at CH!. Bizarre. I appreciate if you are at the game and had a few beers or sniff, it looks different. Seriously? Sure I'll get lots of abuse, but hey!

Some people just love to moan.
Slagging off players is counter productive during a match.
Opinions about players are fair enough and can be expressed through multiple social media channels. However, I cannot think of a player in recent times who has not been called shit and that includes Vic, Gus and Rudoni.

I've not even seen the Stansfield goal but in seriousness why do you care what people say about him? He's a rat of a player and he plays for one of the scummiest clubs in the EFL. Who cares?

Why is he a rat? Do you know him personally?

And even if he was a proven rat isn't it silly to put down his goal for no reason? Seems so petty

You can do what you want. I just find it silly that's all.

I've watched him play mate and he always without fail comes across as an unlikable gobby little shit, suits Blues perfectly in that regard.
I don't know why comments on what people think of a Birmingham player, or any player really, would bother you to be honest. It's totally normal and people discuss it off forum too.

I think I made emy point pretty clear. I just find it bit cringe trying to say a professionals finish was bad etc based on personal dislike for them .

I don't have issue with people having players and clubs they dislike but if it effects views then it gets bit silly.

I just think we're going down the road of trying to police what people say on the forum and some of it is very strange to even care about tbh.
People talk ungodly amounts of shit about our own club and players, if they want to do it about other clubs and players it's hardly a problem is it.
