With respect, I'm not sure it is that simple?
Criticism on here is OK, but giving out actual abuse just because you can do it anonymously isn't IMO. I'm sure players are advised to ignore social media, but that's easier said than done because they are human beings, and I bet it impacts some of them whether they'd admit it or not. Cowardly to use language online that you wouldn't be prepared to use to someone's face.
(not implying that you have said anything wrong ptr)
Its a crazy way to treat any player but Simms scored 19 goals for us the season before last, not like he's a no-hoper. He absolutely does not seem the type to have an attitude problem or anything like that. Just seems like people have singled him out as a target and now no matter what they're on his back.
Personally I want every single player who puts on our shirt to feel they have our backing and encouragement to give the best performance they possibly can. We hear Lampard talk about fine margins to the point he won't let players take a selfie with the kids waiting pre-game, getting on the backs of our own players with sarcastic cheers isn't going to help.
This is a key point. We're not run on a shoestring budget now. If players are being coached by an elite setup then they should be up to standard. A player like Simms is not a kid we're taking a punt on and he's shown he can score goals. If the manager and coaching staff can't get the best out of him then for me that raises as many questions about them as its does the player himself. The players on the pitch have been recruited, coached and selected. If they aren't good enough, that's not their fault - the blame lies elsewhere.

Lol they didn’t sign him.
So they should make Brad Collins the next Peter Shilton as they are elite coaches?
What a dumb comment
FixedNeed to drown the idiots
Aah that’s nothing - I remember in the Russell Slade games you could hear individual shouts ofThe audible jeering for simms last night was cringeworthy and pathetic. Fans that do this need to be shamed at games and called out - it’s absolute nobhead behaviour
On here then fine. We all come to vent and talk bollocks and players should stay away if they’ve got any sense
In the ground you can fuck right off. The game Saturday was ruined for me my two chavvy bitches thinking they were the wittiest people ever for slagging off Simms all game.
If you do this: you’re a c**t. You’re in th wrong end fuck off to the away end. And you’re a c**t. Ditto booing.
If you haven’t managed your emotion regulation powers beyond the abilities of a toddler please stay at home and seek help.
Who got booed?
Why are you so pedantic?
Jeering/booing - it's quite obvious after last night that I'm on about Simms.
Simms for the most part had a positive reception during the match last night from what I heard .. a few fans cheered when he won a header or 2 .. thats as disgusting as it got ... slight overreaction as really the team were well backed in the ground .
We can discuss players how we choose on here
Spot on. The hand wringing sanctimony is pathetic.
People should have been around in the 80’s when players got dogs abuse and they were paid a lot less for it as well.
Yeah, but this isn't the 80s, is it? Stop living in the past.
The player seemingly is a confidence player yet after he scored, was still getting sarcastic jeers when he won headers. How do you think that made him feel?
Whether you like it or not, or think it's important or not, it's not on to do that. Thankfully, the majority commenting on this thread seem to agree with that it wasn't great. We want Simms to be playing well and scoring goals for fun. Jeering him for winning headers isn't going to help.
Things have moved on from the 80s.
He’s ultimately a player who needs more confidence than the average pro to deliver a performance.us as fans should be demanding the most from our players some are paid our yearly wages in a fortnite .
A couple of sarcastic cheers won't change how simms performs.. his performances have been largely poor irrespective of fan backing
I won't enlarge but he's maybe frustrating certain members of the squad too. He’s ultimately a player who needs more confidence than the average pro to deliver a performance.

I’ll keep that it mind on my next call with my bossHe’s ultimately a player who needs more confidence than the average pro to deliver a performance.
Maybe, maybe not. I empathise with him, at the same time though professional football is an ultra competitive business and he’s at a disadvantage if he’s a huge confidence player.I won't enlarge but he's maybe frustrating certain members of the squad too.
It’s not molly coddling, said before I don’t see how the club can continue to carry such a player.I think its about time our fans stopped molly coddling ellis simms , hes a grown adult thats paid thousands of pounds to perform for his football club

No disagreement there, I was just describing why we see what we see from him and it’s why we’ll struggle to recoup our investment in him.The sarcastic cheers were partly because he was literally pretending to challenge for headers whilst looking at the player and being nowhere near winning the ball ..
Its classic look busy even if you are doing nothing nonsense
He scored and he missed 2 glorious chances too , thats not because he was cheered for winning a header
I thought he gave us a solid performance compared to recent months though in all fairness , the bar was set low though

If they have any effect it’ll only be one of a few contributing factors. The biggest for me is he lacks driveI hate fans getting on players backs at games I do .. I just dont think ellis had been struggling because of the supporters tbh .

Said for a long time he has the physical attributes to be a menace in this league, but we’ve seen it probably just a handful of times. Reminds me of Amadou Bakayoko, and we know where he ended upI hope he has a better season this year .. im rooting for him to do so because we need our strikers to be scoring goals
