I am fairly new to this and appreciate it is social media, but why so much negativity? Example..Simms hasn't played since April, I believe. Lots wanted him out. However, he played well tonight, gave his all, scored the winning goal and on another day, with more game time and confidence, could have scored three.. Not just about him. I have seen so many comments about tonight's game, how crap players were. Suggest people rewatch the game..I do go, I watched tonight on TV. Some Great performances from Andrews, Rafa, Brau, but they get slagged off, why? Even Bid well at CH!. Bizarre. I appreciate if you are at the game and had a few beers or sniff, it looks different. Seriously? Sure I'll get lots of abuse, but hey!

Simms started poorly but as the game progressed he started winning headers and linking play . He should've scored first half but his head didn't drop and got on the end of a great move second half .
After that he looked brighter , ran the channels well and competed with the Luton back line . Unfortunately he missed two good chances late on and looked heartbroken, hopefully Frank and the coaching team can pick him up as he can be a good striker at our level

Not surprised he started badly, he was nervous. Imagine, not getting one minute against Sunderland, sante 2 legs, when Wright was bad ( clearly injured) and you have people on these forums " his last chance!". He is 24, scored 19 goals, yr before last. In a system, where Haji played on the left ( not all the time) but he scored 19.. Assante, top scorer at WBA, 2 seasons, with 12 x 2. We have strikers. People need to support them..

I’ve never seen a bigger extreme of a confidence player than him. There’s definitely an effective player there, just hope he can start smiling and enjoying football again. For his sake and ours.

What really frustrates me is the writing off of players who haven't kicked a ball yet. We have a fair bit of talent in the group and can only play so many. Was really interesting getting to see the 2nd side properly last night, with more time to grow in to the game, we have real competition in some areas now.

On here then fine. We all come to vent and talk bollocks and players should stay away if they’ve got any sense

In the ground you can fuck right off. The game Saturday was ruined for me my two chavvy bitches thinking they were the wittiest people ever for slagging off Simms all game.

If you do this: you’re a c**t. You’re in th wrong end fuck off to the away end. And you’re a c**t. Ditto booing.

If you haven’t managed your emotion regulation powers beyond the abilities of a toddler please stay at home and seek help.

Totally agree, time to call those muppets out! Footballs a game of opinions but sarcastically cheering Simms header was out of order, in a game when Simms gave it everything and is clearly lacking form, confidence and regular minutes (he scored the winner and regularly got us up the pitch despite all this). I doubt the people doing it watched us much when we had strikers like Nouble, Kwame Thomas, Nick Proscwitz, Roy O'Donovan, Stuart Beavon etc.

Other than those lot, the crowd was good yesterday and we had surprisingly decent atmosphere I thought

But the OP is saying you shouldn't even slag off the likes of Nouble, Kwame Thomas, Nick Proscwitz, Roy O'Donovan, Stuart Beavon etc unless i'm reading it wrong. Sorry i disagree, you can discuss what you want about the players and whether they are good enough on here, its what it is for. Would someone get unusually angry at one of their mates if you were just having a regular chat about the football and they said they thought someone was shit? It would be a weird thing to get angry about.

If you are on about in the ground, i've made my thoughts on that clear, but sadly we have a lot of stupid fans.

If you do it on here…fine.

Do it at the stadium in a way that the players can hear you, you’re a fucking bellend.

It is really that simple.
With respect, I'm not sure it is that simple?

Criticism on here is OK, but giving out actual abuse just because you can do it anonymously isn't IMO. I'm sure players are advised to ignore social media, but that's easier said than done because they are human beings, and I bet it impacts some of them whether they'd admit it or not. Cowardly to use language online that you wouldn't be prepared to use to someone's face.

(not implying that you have said anything wrong ptr)

Some people get a little hit of dopamine when they talk down to people or slag off players. Its sad A/F and probably to do with their childhood.

It wasn't people having a chat and giving an opinion, obviously everybody has said to mates they think certain players are shit before and that's sound. However this was a crowd of people taking the piss out of Simms in a way everyone in the ground knew it, must be a shite feeling for the lad. It's not what we should be about at all as a fan base.

Yes i agree, players shouldn't be jeered in the crowd, its pathetic and does no one any favours. It really shouldn't be conflated with people chatting bollocks in a dedicated forum though.

Yeah fair enough I'm not saying that either, it'd be impossible to support us if you couldn't vent in here or to your mates ! I think we're usually brilliant supporters at games, would be a shame for things like last night to creep in more often, especially with bigger crowds in the league

I really hope FL or the club release a statement about the booing and support of our players.

I know it won't happen but I think it would be a great idea.

With social media I think (reasonable) criticism is fair game, exception being anyone that tags or posts the criticism directly at the person.

social media (for coventry particulary) is toxic, i left the groups on FB cause its just awful.
the only thing i dont mind in game is the obvious groan if a player mis-places a pass, or continues to make the same mistakes and you hear groans, but even then, sometimes you get a round of encouragement towards the player, claps/a song starts up again.

but to hear sarcastic jeers when one of our plays does something right is so stupid, and just going to flattern players
