Another Slade thread?
1) How about getting someone in who can assess the team and who they would keep rather than waste the first ten games of next season and not be able to sign anyone as the window has closedUntil the end of the season, for two reasons.
1) We're not getting out of this, Mourinho and Ferguson as joint manager couldn't keep us up, so what's the point ? There's nobody out of work who's going to make any difference now so sack him last day of the season and start again, give someone a whole summer to build a team.
2) Because I don't want to sack Slade and him keep his 100% never relegated record, he's come here and played a shite style of football and doesn't desrerve to have never relegated on his CV.
While I'm here can I please take the opportunity to admit I was wrong, I was one of the biggest callers for Slade to get the job, and on paper honestly thought he would do the business, used to working with limited to no funds, managed to get Orient to a Playoff Final without spending a penny, but I was wrong. He seems to want to not lose more than he wants to win and it's too fucking late for that. Last night was a must win. Why not throw Yakubu on at half time and actually give it a proper go rather than trying his best not to concede, it's too late for that.
Anyway, Wembley is certainly going to be bitter sweet isn't it ? Cracking day out but sat there for 90 minutes with the realisation that this is as good as it's gets for a long, long time.

2) So the reason to keep Slade is so you can be vindictive, even if it hurts the club?
Who is going to stay will partly be determined by who wants to. There will be far more opportunity to recruit an actual real replacement in the summer.
Replacing now and the next guy loses the next 8 (which given the state of hfs squad is a real possibility) would mean the next guy being hounded out as well.
Slade is criticised now for not playing the gifted players such as bigiamarana and Stevenson - the same gifted players who went on a ten March winless run at the start and a 7 game run of defeats from November until he turned up.
It's pretty obvious every player has had ample opportunity to perform and have all failed abysmally.
I have no belief any new manager would turn anything round at all but just be another whipping boy.
It's best just to let the whole debacle play out until the end.
People should really look at the whole season. We had a freak October - take that out and the season has been a list of desperate displays by an utterly hopeless and I suspect Ill disciplined squad of players. I suspect Slade isn't popular as he has tried to address the attitude issue.
The players need to go as well as the manager.

If we keep him after May then anyone who buys a sesson ticket is dementedI have accepted we are going down , no point getting rid but I hope we don't try and retain him after may
We've had three managers this season. None of them have been able to get these team playing and winning (although Venus's win ratio all of a sudden looks quite appealing!) Is there anything to suggest that bringing another new manager in could turn the tide? If not, we could bring someone in for the last 15 games, they only win a handful and questions are already being asked about whether they should stay on. If I honestly thought there was a chance someone could come in and get us playing and we finish the season on a high (even while still going down) then I would say go for it, as we would start next season with some optimism. As it stands, it might be best to leave it alone.
