No point spending more wages for a team that can't be saved now.

Put eaden/ricketts in charge till the summer, if they show some signs of promise let them have a go in league 2. If they are shit get rid and recruit a new manager in the summer.

Thorn did okay, then he "had a go".

As for Ricketts stepping in, why not ? A new broom who knows what shite needs sweeping out and I also have a feeling he might stand up to those above, he ain't half in a strong position things can only get better imo

Yep. I didn't advocate him, but when I saw his record he sounded perfect for the job in hand.

As I keep saying to myself, how can you come to a club that is failing badly, bring in 8 new players, yet still make that team worse?

It is bizarre in the extreme.

Slade was appointed as Charlton boss at the start of the season so he has had two entire spells with two different clubs during a single season, not bad going.

It's only early March so he may squeeze in one more yet!!!

Compared to what the club loses if we are relegated, surely you had to play him, a little grit and fight in the middle 5 or 6 games ago may have made a difference, unlikely, we`ll never know.

Put him in charge of Port Vale, Oldham AND Chesterfield. Guaranteed survival then.

Hurrah! Seemed like a nice chap, abysmal manager going through the motions spouting the same crap week in week out as if we had 40 games remaining.

Ricketts 1/4 on, I imagine it's been lined up for a while. If only the club had made this sort of decision straight after Mowbray walked and not fucked around with that dodgy bastard Venus, whom I hold equally responsible alongside Fisher as to why we have had the shittest season in the history of football in the universe. I pray that between the 2 of them they don't come to the conclusion that Penus deserves a second chance. Given the barrage of abuse he was subjected to during his 6 game losing streak, I don't think even he would be stupid enough to take it again. This is Fisher we are talking about however and nothing would surprise me.

DOn't believe all the Bigi wasn't played because of money, etc. To be fair to Slade, Bigi has been shit for the majority of the season. He went through a spell at the beginning of the season where he had a few MOTM awards but has been hopeless pretty much every game he's played in since. Seemed to play well yesterday though, so maybe the break did him some good.

Seems like Slade's decision to play Bigi was a middle finger to Fisher and Venus for their lack of support during the Jan transfer window. I hope he makes a public statement about the circus that is CCFC.

Ricketts may well be a good shout, but wasn't the general consensus that he wasn't a great captain? Or that he certainly wasn't the most vocal of captain's on the pitch? Obviously ranting and raving on the field doesn't always equate to being a good manager, but I seem to remember many people questioning his leadership skills.

Is this Bigi thing actually true then? Or is it one of those ones that if you say it enough it becomes true?

I suspect that one of the issues around Bigirimana was that Slade was convinced that Foley was a better player in that role. He didn't quite say that in his interview on CWR, but he certainly implied it. How he could still believe it after seeing the evidence of the performance yesterday beggars belief.

Ultimately though, 0.18 points per match says it all.

Not sure how you've divided 7 by 13 to get 0.18

I thought we would go to the end of the season with him, surprised we did not stick with him until then if we sacked him that is. What is the point we are down now.

The first three didn't have any new managers bounce so come on we must be due one, can you imagine winning a couple of games in a row, how bloody fantastic is that and I simply cant wait.
I know Mowbray wasn't new but it sounds better

I heard they had a fall out and that's why he wasn't playing.

It's very very unlikely a clause was included given the fact there had to be a pay up clause in his contract. Here is a player who was on a multi million contract at Newcastle it's really not likely they'd want a few grand.

Also the number of games played isn't an obvious amount to trigger a clause.

Hello you..... cheeky.

Like I've put on the other thread. Came with the cv to give us all hope, ultimately it didn't work and if he's not the man for next season then it's really is best to part ways sooner rather than later from a ccfc point of view. Shame, really. I do believe come the summer he could of build a genuine squad to go at league 2... obviously I'm alone in these thoughts.
I'd like to go on record that I will hold back in backing the next manager... I think we all understand why

Pusb!

He seems like a genuine bloke, who wanted to help but ultimately wasn't good enough.

Appreciate we are a basket case of a club off the pitch, but his job is to do the best he can on the pitch. Three key measures of a manager (aside from the obvious winning of games) are recruitment, tactics and man management. He failed badly on all three counts.

Whoever is appointed tomorrow, if they are only an interim until the end of the season, then please please please can someone take responsibility for finding the manager for next season as soon as possible so they have the chance to assess the squad and line up potential signings ready for summer.

As bad as Slade was the team was crying out for a quality striker, 2 inexperienced loans and Beavon were not the answer and the board had to throw money t it and chose not to. I think the yakubu farce was probably the final straw

Nobody with a a games-wins ratio of less than 8% should be running a pro football team. Ecen Thorn's record was nearly three times better than that.

I agree with Sky BlueBear83. Give Ricketts the last 11 games and treat it as a job interview. If it's a no after the last game, decide quickly and make a rapid appointment during May. Either way give the new bloke maximum time before August.
