And Adam le Fondre wasn't 'found' by Robins either, he was already prolific and sought after, after his spell with Rochdale and Keith Hill.

Many attributing factors though, to take into consideration.
Mark was given a bigger budget, and had the owner paying wages out of his own pocket.
The majority of his signings were Premier League loanees, or 750k signings such as Jason Shackell.
We had made over £2m the previous year from our FA Cup exploits.
Keith has had no such luxuries.
Keith has had to contend with injuries on an epic scale.
His most expensive recruit was signing both Scott Wiseman and Matty Done for a combined 200k from Rochdale.
And, win ratio is not how I judge my managers.
I prefer to judge them on the job they are doing, the football they're serving up, their attitude in interviews, the strategy they are using.
Keith Hill is thus doing a far better job than Mark Robins.

Yes, that first half of the season was amazing, but it was just hoofball and when Thorn came in at the end of that season, the football was sooo much better, heck he even got belly playing well for about 10 games
We won 3 games. He ended up winning the same ratio as the departing manager. We won 2 games at home. The goals for column was not improved. Bell played well for about 3 games. He seemed not so keen the following season to reproduce his effort. The players did not like Boothroyd adopting a disciplined approach. The holiday camp it became does not bode well. People enjoy holidays but at some point they are supposed to go back and work. Some of these players have been on permenant vacation.

I think it would be safe to say that views are well understood by those who read this forum - however, I do think that on occassions you can overstate your case.
When Thorn took over we were in freefall. From 4th in December we were heading rapidly down the table and I was expecting relegation.
In my view Thorn got more than the "honeymoon period bounce" because he changed our style rather than just having the players trying harder for a "new boss". Going to games had become a chore (and yes, it has become so again) but for that run to the end of the season I thought we played the most attractive football I'd seen from a City side since (dare I say) Eric Black's time.
I went to Carrow Road for the last game of the season as a guest in a box full of Norwich fans. Before the game they were telling me how we'd get beat 5 or 6 - after the game I was told what a good side we were and how we'd be promoted the following year.
I was really looking forward to the new season. Then we had the King contract farce, the de facto embargo on bringing in new players and it all started to go horribly wrong.
In my view the biggest issue was the loss of King. I have much sympathy for those who say that our build up play is too slow, but when King was in the side, his intelligent runnning meant that options were being opened for the midfield (hence, in my view, why we saw the best of Bell for that short period). After we lost King we needed to get someone of a similar ilk up front, but as we know the blocks were put on transfers until just before the window closed when we managed to get Cody in.
Juke was always the sorceror's apprentice, but was starting to grow into the role as the season went on - so naturally we sold him! My biggest criticism of Thorn is that he persisted too long with a style when he'd lost the player that was pivotal to it and then lost the player that could have replaced him.
The Boothroyd Era was a lot like how I'd imagine Heroine addiction to be. Nervous at the start with all the clean sheet but not many goals in pre-season, then it finally came to it and it felt so good. It was like all our problems had gone away and itwas high after high, despite knowing it was desperately wrong. Then along came Leeds. The Highs started become infrequent and then disapear all together. The Dealer kept saying it would improve and you just believed it. Instead of the highs you just got this sense of mere existance followed by all the negatives of such an addiction. Then along came Methadone Man, Andy Thorn. The future looked bright, but as we all know, there comes a time when Methadone has served it's purpose and becomes as harmful as the initial drug so it was time to go cold turkey. Cold Turkey is always tough at first, but if you do it the right way, it could change your life.

Obviously, as he's your new boss, you're going to try defend him, or find the good bits, and I understand that. <br />

But I wouldn't be as slack as to try telling you how or why Aidy Boothroyd was better/worse than Chris Coleman. <br />
Because I wouldn't have a clue, seen as I don't support Coventry, and can only go on stats such as win ratios.........
