Bookes have Coventry to finish 4th from bottom. If King stays, his goals might move us a few places, so a bet on us finishing 16th would be more likely to reap dividends

Get Westy and Gunnar signed and maybe we can finish 18th again

Not wishing to p!88 on everyones' chips but we definitely need a couple of quality additions in order to be challenging for the playoffs. I hope SISU (or any new investors) can see that.

I always tend to get over-optimistic, but if we stay injury-free, it might only take one or two extra additions to having us look pretty strong next year. Getting Turner back will be like getting a new player in. Bell's done pretty good lately, but i still think if we had someone with a bit of flair (what's this Sunny bloke like that Thorn's been scouting), that could have us looking pretty good.

Murphy
Keogh Turner Cranie Hussey
Clingan
Gunnarson [newplayer?]
McSheffrey
King Jutkiewicz

He's only played 1 senior game against Brum and frankly I wasn't convinced. Not saying he's bad - the hype around him would suggest quite the opposite, but let's give the lad a chance to get comfortable in the first team environment before he gets thrown in for real. We do need another really good centre mid - defense is fine and the keeper issue seems pretty good in relation to Joe Murphy. Striking options seem comfy now - with me making no attempt to hide my love of Jutkiewicz and King now signing (maybe a back-up that's not O'Donovan or Eastwood) so a good centre mid to pair/replace Gunnar and I'd be happy!

You can't deny that Bell was quality in Thorn's new tactics. I think he should keep his place. If someone's position was under threat for me it would be Gunnar even if he does sign. I think the starting team is not that bad. I would like to see a few more squad players brought in to challenge some of the more comfortable players ie, Clingan and McSheffrey.

I'd keep Bell in the team, definitely. He was beginning to look like the player he should be, and apparently that's the position he prefers over and out-and-out winger.

Well the team is kinda built around Clingan and Sheffers was looking sharp at the diamond tip. If they play even better and King + Juke bang 'em in consistently... I'm quite literally shuddering with joy at the thought!

I'd love to see us bring in Akos Buzsaky, I believe he's on a free from QPR. Gives us cover for the tip and can play in the middle in Bell's position.

Why did we ever invest over a million on that.

Nobody believe AT could bring out a fresh start for Eastwood then? Im not saying I do, but the lad has to have talent, and just needs his confidence back. Could be a fantastic impact sub. He had a good spell this last season before getting dropped for no reason, then that knocked his confidence again.

But he also had a big sulk under AT because he wasnt first choice and behind King & Jutkiewicz..... his attitude and application was pretty poor at the end of the season. Even AT has hedged his bets on him in his comments a few weeks ago. Best for him to move on I think

Every time he came on as a sub last season he looked like he couldnt be bothered to run after the ball.

Waste of space. Bite the bullet and get rid. Annoyingly he could probably bag a few over the course of the season if he was given a regular run, however he's too often found trying to make himself look good or has gone awol during games to be trustworthy enough to be relied upon. He's probably being paid than most in our current squad as well. I don't think it's a coincidence that Wolves offloaded him and a couple of other shirkers and they started doing well.

Yeah, I saw that a couple of months ago and thought the same. Don't know what his wages would be like, I'm not sure if QPR were paying over the top for all their players or not?

GREAT NEWS!
As for Eastwood who would want him ?... I think we need a few more additions to chase a good spot though, you need to take injuries into consideration.

We could throw in a few centre backs while we're at it.

Oh FFS. Make your mind up Sky. Sorry every one. It seems the celebrations may be a little early.

I just read this and it made me think of the whole Novo signing what SkySports announced we signed him and then in fact retracted it a few hours later!

May be just being a bit cynical but could you think the board released this news to boost the new home shirt sales today?

I hope King does commit as Thorn gave his statement as well!? :S

I can't see Andy Thorn quoting the phone call he had with him to be a lie, his agent sounds like a right douche. Hopefully it's just speculation and he is in fact going to sign.

Maybe AT misheard. King might have really said "I've got some bad news for you, im at the walkers right now"

That's absolute BS from his "advisor", why would it come out like that in so many media outlets just for him to turn round and say nothing's been agreed. Agree with Gaskell, sounds like a complete moron.

Most likely his dick of an agent trying to get him a better deal. If he does sign, fair do's to Marlon, if he doesn't, he's on my list with the likes of Bellamy, Jarni and Kyle.
