I used to be a member of the SBT a long long time ago (early naughties) so I have no idea what this thread is about and what went on that has led to the strength of feeling displayed on the forum, genuinely, I'm not winding anyone up.
Anyone care to enlighten me or am I better off living in ignorance?

Read the thread. But generally the Northampton period was fucking horrible and both sides were convinced the other was a super secret council/Sisu mole and it led to some pretty shitty behaviour.

Seemingly for some it was a grand old time cos we keep reminiscing about it. Fact is a bunch of people who care about CCFC had that used for other peoples own ends. Of course when I do it it’s reasonable and understandable, when someone else does it it’s a sign of moral failing and evidence they’re a nonce or something.

Fact is both sides thought the other would lead to the destruction of their club and understandably got quite angry/upset at that thought.

Nice both sidesing something where one side was doxxing, harassing, trying to get people sacked and the other was posting on a forum.

The other wasn’t innocent either and Grendel is in this thread doxxing and harassing for example.

Obviously you have one view because you experienced it, others who experienced it the other way have another.

But sure it was Avengers: Ricoh Arena and you were Captain America.

Thing is. They were actually in with the council and then wasps. All while they went on about anybody who pointed this out being on sisus payroll.

Even when I pointed out what they were up to i took so much "get your tin foil hat on". I was actually right.

when you had the trust along with the council parading a show pony and now bankrupt yank round the ground when he had no means or intent on buying the ground it’s pretty obvious they were unfit for any purpose

He always gets angry when this comes up

Heard about some bizarre shit on this forum, but contacting people’s employers and posting pictures of people’s houses?

Oh when someone says to me they are going to knock in my door and threaten me (when it’s not me) and then use my details to complain about someone who works in a school dead right they get a picture of where they live - it’s funny how a lot of things stopped very quickly after that

Not really. It’s not all round is it. And I wasn’t upset - others were and felt threatened by unacceptable behaviour

what would you have done - called your friends at Cov Tel?

If someone was (unsuccessfully) trying to threaten me and was going around impersonating me then I would probably either ignore them, or if I felt it was warranted, I would go to the police. I can’t honestly say that starting my own vigilante intimidation campaign in response on my “very active” social media account would cross my mind.

What’s funny about it?

If you’re not sure on what you could have done instead then even the Met has some pointers:

Yeah right - it’s really funny as if what happened to some on here - not me as I just thought it was funny - to you youd love it wouldn’t you.

Calling the police - yes they really are going to to do a search aren’t they of anonymous social media accounts and try and link them to other e mail accounts and random phone calls to employers

Vigilante action - it’s hardly Charles Bronson is it

What are you talking about? That first sentence is too garbled to make sense of.

As I said, I’d probably just ignore anonymous and ineffectual threats online - it takes an odd sort to think the better course of action was posting pictures of someone’s house online. Some people these days just don’t know when to log off it seems.

So if someone PMd you and said they’d been given a letter of complaint by their governors from a parent - which was me - and he asked me what’s best to do and I resolved it by that simple action that was good wasn’t it?

Liquid Gold was getting a similar accusation as had Nick.

You either stop it in 5 minutes as cowards are stupid and easily dealt with or people lose their jobs at worst or have embarrassing conversions at best

It stopped almost instantly. That’s good for those threatened isn’t it?

Well clearly not everyone else facing the same situation decided to take the same action as you. I’m sure there must be someone who found what you did to be very brave and honourable, perfectly normal behaviour - personally that’s not a view I share.

Not sure what your line of work is but the governors' case could have seen whoever it was in serious shit. If the perpetrator got scared off by G's actions it's fair game

Which is also why I'd be going to the police if someone contacted my employers trying to get me sacked, however. Not just for me, and the desire to prove it's all quite malicious, but also for whoever else they might do it to in the future.

Of course, which means if anything what G did was on the lenient side. I'm still struggling to believe it got to that stage.

A real man of principle is Roger

Roger Ellis feels no 'personal culpability'

Roger Ellis, the ex-chief executive of Rochdale Borough Council, which was criticised for staff
www.rochdaleonline.co.uk

Local reaction to Mr Ellis' performance was scathing, Linda Phillips said: "I am amazed at how that bumbling idiot got away with coasting along as chief executive for 12 years.

Well yes, as I said, I’d be seriously weirded out if someone tried to get me sacked for no reason. Same as if someone started posting pictures of my house on their “very active” social media accounts. I don’t see a good justification for either, especially when we’re talking about football supporter group internal politics.
