This might have been asked before, but with the opening of the Sky Blues Tavern and the Anecdote, will the clubs gain any revenue from these ventures? It would be good if they did, any extra revenue for the club would be great

SBT yes, it's a joint venture. Anecdote I'd say almost certainly not.

Home matches have the potential to be a completely different day out now. Plenty of places to drink and socialise before a game.

The brewery at the ground is now significantly bigger too with DJ Smithy. That's 3 new options.

That’s great for the club, they need more innovative ideas like this

Yep, especially Dhillons which I think will be a game changer. It provides a large venue close to the ground that will feel like a proper place to have a beer pre-match.

The casino is a weird place to drink before a game; shit beer, escalators and waterfalls, just doesn't feel right and won't miss it one bit.

Liked the Anecdote too, will be handy for midweek games.

Is it a joint venture ? I had not seen anything to say the club had put money in , I think the club have totally supported and helped with memorabilia , tickets for games etc but not sure they will take any income from it

Would expect some sort of royalty or licensing revenues as a minimum

I have a feeling the casino will become an away venue. Can't see many Cov fans continuing to use it with the new options.

The club wouldn't allow an independent business to profit by using it's name without receiving royalties.

Considering Dhillion's still seems a small company and have two venues already, I'd be surprised if they could afford to open a venue of the size/location of the Tavern without a big investment from CCFC.

They should have purchased the Rowleys green and done that back up

The club could benefit indirectly but I would be surprised if they have made any major capital injection and I think they allowed dhillions to be very creative in what they have done

Not sure it would be viable on non-matchdays. The Tavern will be busy throughout the week when there's big Premier League and Champions League games.

But they wouldn't need to make a capital investment in order to receive royalties. Why would they? It will be a licensing arrangement. Dhillons invest the capital, the club give it their official stamp and drive business their way, and revenues are somehow shared.

The amount of oxygen the club are giving to it, sending in MR today and a lot of social media promotion is a clear indication that they have a vested interest in people spending money there. I can't believe that is even being questioned tbh.

Will the Dhillons by the ground be open for the forest match? I thought something about being closed for refurb

No, fully open. That refurb was done specifically for the football season.

Agreed, well done to the club partnering with a genuine local SME for mutual benefit

Anyone know what time the Tavern opens on Sunday?

Looks like 12pm but thought they may open earlier and make the most of the hype.

They wouldn't give me the time of day. There is nothing to confirm, it is clearly a joint venture, Dal Dhillon actually said recently;

"We are elated to announce this new joint venture with Coventry City Football Club."

On what basis are you doubting it's a joint venture?

I think it is a fantastic venture and will bring the fans together and provide a great opportunity to provide a central based supporters meeting point that has been missing hence why and they should the club is getting fully behind it
With the club losing money in their last accounts and being through the last eighteen months in the pandemic and furloughing staff up to last month , it is doubtful they would be able to make a significant cash injection into any projects at the moment
Joint venture wouldn’t necessary mean ownership but the full backing and support of the club without this I’m sure dhillions wouldn’t have committed to it

Why? The pandemic is a reason to invest not a reason not to.

If you have the monies to invest, the club have had no income and built up no cash reserves to enable this , totally agree the pandemic has provided lots of opportunities for people to invest and dhillions have demonstrated this , looking at the opportunity and taking it by the scruff of the neck and making it work from a venue that had been shut down for years

So if it isnt a joint venture should fans not use it?
Who actually cares I dont if its good place then i'll use it if not I wont.
The one near the ground was a great place nothing to do with the club.
Funny how most clubs have a home and away pub that has nothing to do with the club.
Did the Roost give any of its proffits to City?

Was it? I’m more talking about the social media coverage, recording a video with the manager there and telling fans to visit
