Like many others I was saddened to hear at the start of the season our ball boys and girls were no longer required. I've been in contact with the clubs we are playing to see if they can help by giving them a role during our away games.

I've had some very positive responses so far and I'm hoping to get some concrete details soon.

If your child has been one in the past please DM me so I can get the ball rolling if/when I get conformation from the clubs.

Great idea. The more focus on the fans and team the better, and this very positive initiative helps lifts the spirits of all.

Everyone's suffering but I feel the ones I feel the most sorry for are the JSBs and the Diamond Club.

First one is confirmed. Swindon, the week before Christmas. Only had one no so far.

fair play cj and a great gesture from the clubs involved. sort of shows they dont like whats going on.

as for the jsbs, is there any clubs willing to do discounts for jsbs and have a family away game sort of like the back the lads games.

Absolutely brilliant. This incarnation of the SBTrust has been fantastic - Swindon said yes, whatever else the Trust has or hasn't done, the reformation was worth it, simply for this.

Great idea. I hope when the club is home and all this is over the Trust keeps doing things like this.

Why would you say that and actively encourage negativity?

Fair play cj, what sort of role are they getting?

Ball boys/girls at Swindon. If not that at others it could be flag bearers, shaking a flag or banner on the pitch ect.

Good work this should be publicised a lot more. I just wish the gesture to them from sisu was a bit grander.

The offer to watch other kids doing what was their job smarted a bit I bet. Also I see no reason why they didn't ask them to continue at Sixfields in the first place.

No, it was one of the more bizarre decisions they could have possibly done. Did they give any reason why they weren't asked to carry on?!? Stewards and the like I understand, but ballboys?!?

Nope. No reason was given to the public and as far as I know the kids.

Wouldn't have cost Sisu much & think of the positive PR, but that's alien to them!

Keep the faith - only a matter of time before they do I'm sure. Great idea, great result.

I think the SBA ought to think up some special "Thank-you" song to sing from the rafters at every ground where you got a yes from.
Well done CJ

A Sky Blue ball boy and ball girl will be at Swindon on Saturday. We've given them free travel down there on the Trust coach. If anyone has a child that would be interested for future games please let me know. I know it's a big ask as it's midweek but Bristol City have rang me a few times! Would be great to take a few there.

We've arranged for three 12 year old lads who were all ballboys at the Ricoh to do it on Tuesday night. Free entry has been offered to their parents too by BC. Thanks to Sonia and all involved at Bristol City who have made this possible.

If anyone has a son or daughter that was a ball girl/boy in previous seasons or was going to be one this season please get in touch. My email is joinercj@gmail.com
