Hope it's not true but heard from a friend that wasps are taking out the sky blue seats and putting in horrible orange or what ever colour they play in for next season

Why would that bother us? We are building our own stadium.

Would SISUE be savvy enough to buy about a fifth of them for HR2....?

That won't have sky blue seats either. Sandra Garlic and her group said it was for the best.

It's only a matter of time before this happens. If the naming rights are up this Summer (strange that this hasn't been confirmed), I can't imagine that they'll be too happy replacing the dark blue 'Ricoh seats' to the name of their new sponsor (probably JLR). It will look the same as Hull's ground then!!

Didn't wasps say this wasn't happening when they first moved?

Yes, but as has been said eleventy billion times, if CCFC are not staying, as they have said they're not, then why WOULD Wasps keep them sky blue? Daft to KEEP them sky blue if City are leaving.

Coventry City need to come out and say they want a future here and then the case to keep the seats sky blue holds more validity.

.... and until CCFC say they will be staying at the Ricoh these rumours will be followed by actual changes.
Everybody knows we are staying at the Ricoh so let's work with the owners for the benefit of both teams.

Even if we stay, it is wasps stadium not ours, so are likely to make the changes anyway. Us staying there isn't going to make that much of a difference.

It's never been ours. We hire it off ACL and always have done. Wasps are also a client of ACL and like us they need to seek permission for changes.
We are held back because the Sisu stance on a new stadium and JR battles. If there is to be a new stadium that stance may be correct but we are still here for several more years at least.
I'm sure if we commit to the Ricoh we can bling it up on match days like Wasps do.
Overall it still looks like our stadium with a few Wasps signs and posters.

Lol. what a load of tosh.

Wasps hire it off ACL yes. Who owns ACL? Wasps. So wasps have to ask themselves for permission?

It has never been ours, but it was built for us and therefore marketed (skyblue seats ccfc, etc) for us. Wasps own ACL and are now the flagship tenants it's there stadium and they will change the seats (eventually) whether we are here long term or not. Which answers your last point, at some point it will no longer look like our stadium. This is far more than just putting a bit of bling up on matchdays.

Even if we are long term tenants, there is no prospect of buying into ACL (Richardson confirmed this), there is only a limited to how we will benefit, very likely going to be increased rent and less access to matchday income, when the naming rights are renewed we will not benefit 1 penny from it.

Let's not pretend this is down to sisu not agreeing a long term rental deal with wasps/ACL. These changes will happen because it's their stadium, which they will want to be marketed for them, in their quest to become the best team in Europe (whatever cost to ccfc and CRFC).

As Mr Fisher seems to live in dream land I think his stadium already exists in animation world. I bet he even has signed Messi for us for next season. Oh, to be ignorant of life's daily troubles. I quite envy Mr Fisher's world

Yes they did. Their fan boys on here assured everyone that it wouldn't happen either. I can't believe they'd be wrong again!!

Wouldn't matter if we had 28-30k every week, we wouldn't see the seats then, but given 75% seats lay empty, playing a "home" game surrounded by yellow seats just adds to the humiliation and makes us even more of a laughing stock.

Totally agree. Plus the bleeding sky blue seats always exaggerates how empty the stadium is.

Yet again this highlights exactly why we find ourselves in this position; apathetic fans scraping the barrel to insult their club whilst making excuses for a franchise rugby team.

We will look even more of a tinpot club then. I presume that you are one of the Wasps fan boys.

They said it when they came, nobody forced them to say it. Sisu were talking about the new stadium then.

Wouldn't have been fibbing to keep people sweet would they? Seems like people fall for it.

Perhaps Fisher will change our kit to yellow and black , when they change the seat colours. There will be nobody going soon anyway.

I'd be well pissed off if SISU changed the shirt colours, what should happen though is that Wasps should buy is and change our shirt colour. That would be a great idea.

No quite true, Nick.

Sisu went to Northampton said they were not coming back to the Ricoh (that boat has sailed), but then they did come back. At that point that was the time to stop all the nonsense of talking about a new stadium that they were never, ever going to build.

Wasps said they wanted to work with Coventry City and said they had no plans to change the seats. Our owners though came back and immediately said they weren't staying. At that point that changes everything surely.

There is no argument to be had here. If CCFC say they want to stay then there is a argument to be had to keep the seats sky blue, but while we say we will not stay, then of course it would be pointless for Wasps, in their own stadium, to leave the seats a colour for a sports team that insist they are not going to remain here.

Never thought Northampton was home so why worry about colour of seats in another loaned stadium. Once name change from Ricoh to JLR the death will be complete.

The point I'm making is that ACL is a separate business and although influenced by Wasps will still be maximising their incomes. Changing the seats would not effect Wasps incomes but could have implications for one of there clients namely CCFC. So why do it?
This Saturday you won't even see the seats.
The laughable thing as you know is that the new stadium will not have sky blue seats. Would be funny if they were considering yellow or black.
ACL is a business and every change by Wasps or CCFC will need to be considered financially and approved.
We are talking about changes that up to now have been denied by Wasps..
