Well done to all involved, great idea.

It was also great the way you kept the secret, never knew a thing about it till I walked into work this Morning.

Proud of you all, good job well done.

PSGM1 in your face !!!!!!

To go a little more fancypants, there's also a map charting locations of where people have tweeted the ribbon locations:

Why has this not been made available for all fans? Seems the SBT like to think that members are the only fans that can participate in this type of thing.

I would have thought it had to be done that way for the surprise factor besides could you imagine 7000 people turning up now theres an idea
:thinking about:
Also do you know how difficult it is to get sky blue ribbon in the city that is famous for ribbon making?

Think the idea Rich was to start it and let everyone join in so it got a life of its own. I would have thought the more people doing it the better and you dont need to be a trust member to join in

I feel like I haven't been invited to the party. This sort of exclusive thing makes me like the SBT less than I already did. It's like having a fan club of the club. If you're not in the SBT you're not a proper fan type of thing.

tbf, tying a ribbon somewhere doesn't need trust, or any other membership.

Rich
We tried to keep it very hush hush for the one last night as did not want the Media involved hence why we did the CT and CWR last. Everything was organised verbally rather on Internet.
Now its in the open we maybe doing more of these and anyone is welcome to join In not just Trust members. If you want any of the plastic ribbon pleas private me and will get some to you?

I know there are talented musical types on here...can anyone change the words to "tie a yellow ribbon" to suit our plight, Tie a Sky Blue ribbon round the old oak tree, it will be three long years (with a possible 2 year extension) till you next see me...something along those lines maybe?

Am sure some will be taken down Nick, but we have got 1,000s more to put up and plenty offers of help.
They will not get them all, even the Police thought it was a decent idea and just let us get on with it.

Ribbons Everywhere

Lieutenant Pigeon completed their recording today, I have it on my PC and will knock up a temporary video prior to a proper video being made.
I sent them new lyrics for "Bobbing Up & Down Like This" which they have largely used, inserting a few of their own.
They want nothing at all for doing this and the Sky Blue Trust are free to do what they want with the track - personally I'd get it onto iTunes as soon as.

Re: Tie A Yellow Ribbon - problem is you have to get the publishers permission to change words etc, all very convoluted. Someone did come up with some great alternative lyrics but not sure if you'd get fans singing them.
Will post a link to video later when it's done. Or maybe you will need to listen to the Vic Minett show on BBC C&W tomorrow

Re: Ribbons, I've been covering Earlsdon with them and encouraging shops to display all week, didn't know anything about it being 'secret' and have only just re-joined the SBT.

So council tax payers have today funded Council* employees going round Cov to remove blue ribbons? How useful!

*assuming it is Cov City Council who have began taking them Down

I've attached one to my car Ariel. It would be good to see them on cars all over the city, they can't be removed by the council.I bought mine from Cov market 60p for a meter of ribbon.

any idea who's taking them down, is it the council? surely even Fisher wouldn't bother sending someone round the city taking the ribbons down?

CWR have been covering it and polling people who don't support Cov but 'got' what it was about, so that's a check in the positive column.
