Great Memories,i was 19 when we won the cup and i went to all the games in the cup run,still got the programmes and my cup final ticket stub,reckon i was one of the first at Wembley that day as me and my mates walked up Wembley way at 6.50 am and then hung around all day waiting for the gates to open i think at 1.30?,live in New Zealand now and sad to see what's happening from down under,so many memories of Highfield Road and all the years i went there and the 100's of games i watched from the kop and then later from the west end,was gutted when they knocked the place down and moved to a place they don't even own,all the best for next season in the old division 3.

Hey mate,i was one of the city fans in the Holte End that day after a few too many in The Rocket before jumping on the train and going over without a ticket,it was the only part of the shithole we could get in,got a bit dodgy in there when we started singing the Sky Blue Song as i remember!

I went to the man u and stoke away games on the run. Had to sit in man u end but the excitement was immense. When we won the man u fans around us were saying "thats what u get when u play sh#*. Ha ha ha. Loved it. Stoke..... What a game. Best atmosphere ever ... Crowd and support amazing. Brother had to throw me over a fence on the way to car as a mob smashed way down street. Never did know if cov or stoke.
For the final my brother had to buy season ticket to get final ticket. I was too young to afford. Ended up at my mates seafront hotel in teignmouth devon with the largest ever 'devon skyblues' union jack hung from balcony. Went crazy with bennets goal and mate landed on my head. What a day.

One memory for me is going to see a pre-season game against Benfica in about 97. We went 2-1 up and then lost 7-2! There was a Brazilian player called Valdo who was given a standing ovation when he was subbed. Without doubt one of the best players I've ever seen

Hi Everyone,
Just joined from sunny (?!?) Glasgow where I've been exiled for years. I never thought I'd see the day when we were second from bottom of Legaue One! Anyway, to cheer myself up, I thought I'd join this and relive my memories of 87. I went to every round.

Round 3. End of Xmas hols and sat in the West End for the Bolton game. Cold. Wore favourite Sky Blue pants.

Round 4. I was a student in Liverpool so went to the Man Utd game with two Man U fans from Londonerry/Derry. They would have said the latter! Wore the same pants as for the Bolton game (and subsequent games). Put a tenner on us to win the game. Why didn't I have more confidence? Close run with Man Utd yobbos in Oxford Road station (?) whilst travelling back to Lverpool.

Round 5. Met up with my father for the Stoke game. Did we spend the entire second half singing 10 men went to mow a meadow? Was this the first time Spot made an appearance in the chant?

Q final. Had brewery "field trip" to Warrington on Friday afternoon. Unsurprisiingly got drunk, took coach to Sheffield and stayed with a friend from school who was at Uni there. Later, when even more drunk in a club (Lead Mill?), I remember hearing the "Sweetest Feeleing" by Jackie Wilson and I knew we were going to win the cup. Stood in the corner section of the Leppings lane End, I remember it being a crush to get in.....

S final. Easter hols, so drove up to Sheffield. Micky Gynn was a star.

Final. Only got tickets the day before - a mate from Southport had a friend who had two tickets for the Spurs end that he couldn't get get rid of....... Travelled down after champagne breakfast in a minibus with aforementioned Sheffield Uni mate. 12 of us with yellow and blue faces and electric blue wigs. A Gorilla too. We had the "Sky Blue Heaven 87" banner. Parked in Sainsburys (?) car park and swapped tickets with Spurs fans for City end outside Wembley. I recall a Ford Sierra on fire near the stadium. Killer lifting the cup was quite emotional. Repeated recently when Jess Ennis and Mo Farrah won golds at the Olympics. It's funny how a sense of ownership makes triumph more special.

Anyway, this self-indulgence has reminded that sporting triumph is always cyclical. When we first relegated from the Premiership it just got worse and worse but I do feel that we have reached the bottom. Surely it is not possible to mis manage a middle sized footbal club so badly ad in finitum. The economics of our fan base will eventually return us to the Premiership. Maybe the new manager will be the turning point....

I went to bolton, qtrs, semis and the final. me and a mate got this bloke tickets to the qrt final at Hillsborough in return for a lift to the game. we waited outside the Wyken Pin but he never turned up! we was stranded until this mini-bus turned on the off chance and picked us up, shared they're stack of cans with us, great sing-song going up and even better goin back. Cyrils strike still one of my alltie favorites. we had to leave some old irish falleh up there tho when he went walk about and the Hillsborough police moved us on. hope he got back alright. good days

Two special moments besides the obvious ones already covered.
First - Leeds yobs in the West End who ran away to the gate to escape. As they waited it's opening they were giving a lot of mouth & gestures (because that's what shows you are "hard" apparently) at the SB fans there who largely ignored them. Suddenly from somewhere near to me a scorching hot pie was lobbed right into ones face. He returned from St. John's about 15mins later with some very shiny ointment much to the West End's delight
2. Wembley car park at about 12:00 1987 final (& all that) A couple of RR full of posh people setting out what I guess they would call a picnic (tables & chairs mind you) & eating their cucumber sardines. A lone rather dishevelled looking SB wanders across gawping at them. They tried hard to ignore him circling them - even when he began repeatedly chanting "You - posh - b******s"...it was priceless

Following the sky blues coach after the cup 87 in a mini bus, hanging out every window and side Door with scarfs n flags half cut, then being told off by big Cyril with the cup in hand waving at us to get in, like naughty school boys we got in, priceless

Its not my first memory but its my favourite, The opening game of the 97/98 season Highfield road bathed in sunshine Me and my best mate got a season ticket each Block q row t seats 25 &26 of the Mc Donalds family stand.We come back from our first lads holiday to spain the friday night. We played Chelsea at home Dion got a hatrick, off into town after the game I was 22 and had it all in front of me. Great Days, hopefully they will return
