Why not just a Museum of Coventry that covers music, sport and anything else. Could be an add on to the transport museum or Herbert

On the ground floor of the Herbert they do cover CCFC with a very small display of items . Worth a look if your up town .

There has also been so many great players. We have actually been privileged as a club compared to most. There are players I can't even remember playing for us! So what!

We have had great players at this club and some great teams.

Elliott's Accessories... I remember that branding vividly growing up for some reason. Guess it doesn't exist anymore?

Elliott's motor factors shop at the top of Gulson road is now an apartment tower block.
Given the name I think it is part of Joe's business portfolio.

Now I know why I remember the brand I'd see the boards at the game, and then pass the shop walking into town from Humber Road.

The more I look into it the better it gets. You can watch the highlights from any game by the looks of it. They should put that feature front and centre of the site!

They've linked it up with the YT channel covonthebox, the person who ran that used to post on here

This archive is amazing. Spent most of last night trawling through it!

I was listening to the Jim Brown Sky Blue History podcast on the way down last night and he alluded to being involved in something launching in the new year - presume this is it? The match write-ups are similar, if not the same, from his excellent books.

Currently wading through the PL relegation season - Why why why why why why why didn’t we sign John Hartson earlier?

Brilliant work by the club and the team. Did make me think tho, are we one of the only clubs to successfully rebrand our entire club?

Remember a couple of years ago when Cardiff rebranded and the uproar imagine if Jimmy tried it today.

It's cracking. Just pick a random game from any season (back to a certain point in the 80s by the looks of it) and just watch the highlights. What a time to be alive!

I wonder if they’ve spoken to BBC CWR/BBC I bet there’s some great stuff hidden in their archives.

Found it interesting looking at how programmes have changed from the 50s up to now

Just watched the “highlights” from the Grimsby game - Strachan’s last.

Seeing their goal again for the first time in 24 years doesn’t erase the horror.

Jeez, it was toxic that day…

It's strange when you look at a fixture list, and there are games you remember like yesterday, and some that may as well not have happened for you.

For example, lots of that season sticks in my mind really well, but I have no memory whatsoever of what looks a really good 2-1 win at home to Spurs with 10 men.

Didn’t play much - was ok, nothing spectacular. Signed a lot of European players around that time - Ray Clarke was a busy scout!

Have worked my way through to the first game I took my then 5 year-old son to.

No wonder he has zero interest in football 🫤

Given the amount of empty units in town could you not convert something there. Would actually be a reason to go into the city centre.

Why not have a Coventry Sports museum to cover us, CRFC, Blaze, Bees and everyone else that has been here over the years (apart from Wasps obv).

Could also have a combined store for all the current teams and a ticket office.
