To use your sycophant's own term from earlier in this thread, LS, that's 'floundering with no substance'

You asked:
do you still believe that the turnover for 2013/14 year will be the same, if not more than the most recent published set of accounts?

I replied: 'I have never stated that turnover will continue at it's current level, or at it's current trajectory. Have I?'

Do I take it you don't want or can't to answer my question?

Whilst not wishing to enter a messy debate, I must commend you for the use of the Fairytale character, Rumpelstiltskin. Where you plucked it from or why it entered your mind I wont ask, I just enjoyed a reference to a fictional character that could spin thread into gold. Now there's an idea for Tim.........

(perhaps we should try to enter fairytale characters into more posts, for no greater reason than it would amuse me considerably)

The reference is to the period of the Olympics which stated that the period of the Olympics would have hampered turnover. This is balderdash or do you think it is? If it is that suggests turnover is hugely skewed to those months in a normal trading year. Is it really?

Surely the value of ACL would go down every year?

I'll answer this one as it covers off LS's outstanding question too. The answer is: 'I don't know'.

However, ACL made the claim when releasing the accounts. With regards their projections for the set of accounts just published, they were candid and have turned out to be quite accurate. So, I'm saying why now disbelieve them on this claim?

What is the basis for disbelieving them? The answer to that question is not to then ask me to justify their business plan, as I can't.

It's to answer the original question with an answer

In retrospect, I don't know. Troubled mind, I guess. Comparing Grendel to Rumplestiltskin does appear a false call; especially given the thread-into-gold malarkey clearly showed that the fabled imp had at least one redeeming skill

Merely based on the length of the lease shortening each year?

Would lose value correspondingly I'd have thought?

I will go . I don't think that SiSU are going. The more they put in out of their pockets, the more debt is loaded against the club and no one will ever buy us while we are down in the depths. We need some relative success so they can sell and move on. I fear that starving the club of cash might just bite us in the arse. And by he way I am in no way advocating that we should all rock up to sixfields, each to their own and I respect your choice. My boycott lasted two weeks

I don't think that is true, once the debt load is impossible then it will be written off, why on earth would you want the club to be hamstrung by the debt SISU have loaded on during their tenure, they started with £12M debt plus a £6M liability if on only if they got to the Prem in 2 years, that has now been turned into concrete £44M debt, they will never be repaid whatever happens.

Worth more? Proof and evidence please.

Moving on from the tenant? These accounts show when they were the tenant.

Since then what's happened?

Bid for rugby World Cup - failed
Bid for uk snooker championship - failed
Concerts - are there any?
How will revenue increase over the same period when the Olympics is not there - again MMM squirms, slithers and fails to answer.

Not going well is it? Perhaps you need another briefing from PWKH before you return?

So if we return to the ricoh under a rent agreement does that mean you're reverting back to NOPM. You're going to get a reputation for jumping sides more than Ms Sinclair.

Did they actively bid for the UK Snooker Championship? I was under the impression the players and organisers of the Champion of Champions tournament were so impressed with the event at the Ricoh they mentioned the possibility of moving the UK Championships there but I don't recall any bidding process or the Ricoh losing out. As far as I know Champion of Champions will be at the Ricoh again this year.

I am on the side of the football club. Anyone going to a ladies football match is only going as its the Ricoh. They would not go if it was at the normal venue.

There were people who led us to believe that by now ACL would be in severe financial trouble if not out of business after SISU moved the team out. That hasn't happened. It was stated by some ACL's account would be terrible, that didn't happen. Seems some are now looking for other ways to convince that ACL are failing. Could they fail in the future? Of course but there is little evidence to say that is on the cards.

As you say MMM what ACL have claimed so far has turned out to be correct and there is no evidence to suggest that what they are claiming for the future won't also be correct. Seems a case of clutching at straws to me.

How can that be true, people turn up to watch them elsewhere. I've seen them play down here and I wasn't the only Cov fan there so I'm pretty sure there are some supporters who go to watch them at their usual home venue.

Ann Lucas said they would have been in a right mess without the restructuring of a loan over 40 years. Why is that?

This was reflected in the offers made to the club in the ever decreasing rental offers and access to ACL's slice of revenues. It wouldn't take much at all for the club to renegotiate a cheap, long term lease and buy out ACL's share in IEC, the company where all Ricoh revenues go and in which ACL has a roughly 80% stake.

Why haven't we done this? Personal agendas by our esteemed leader against the council would appear to be top of the list. I'm still intrigued to know what people plan to do with an empty 32,500 seater stadium though, considering it costs money to maintain and the club was contributing a not inconsiderable sum to the business.

Seeing as there have not yet been any accounts for the time since we have moved out and the most recent accounts even with a near doubling of turnover because of the Olympics led to reduced profits then it still remains to be seen how well they are doing without the club.

I find it strange though, that generally the ones who scream loudest about Sisu "distressing ACL to get the Ricoh on the cheap" also at the same time seem to think ACL are doing marvellously without the club.

Doing marvelously? We all know that Labo was trying to say without evidence that the Ricoh was making a loss until questioned on what he knew. He had to admit he knew nothing. What is pointed out is that ACL is doing much better than SISU hoped by removing our club from Coventry and relocating us in Northampton. This is not saying they are doing marvelously.

And are you also trying to say that SISU have not been trying to distress ACL?

I think so, but then again I've never gone on about how brilliantly ACL are doing aand are going to continue to do without the club.

Some seem able to hold two contrasting opinions at the same time.

Possibly, but who really knows as yet?

Always thought that ACL particularly badly run, never seems to get many concerts(have any been announced for this year yet?), and often don't get "return" business once people are back on the circuit,

Not had Heineken Cup for about 6 years, didn't get the RWC, no U21's for a long time, and no reason why they couldn't have pretty much all the U21's games here really, always been a big appetite for them when they have been here.

A few conferences etc, are ok, but the potential has never been realised I don't think.

Not yet no. But they are going the right way. OK the Olympics won't be happening all the time but at least they managed to get a part of it. They have put someone in place that can take them forward. Without getting into the politics of it all things were forced upon them to make it work. And who was in place that had the experience that was needed?
