It's shite in the national league, the 2nd and 3rd teams have to sit around whilst a team that could have finished miles can build up a head of steam. Crap system

Don't agree that this is an 'Americanisation'. That would be doing away with promotion / relegation altogether, not widening its scope.

I don't think it will be an improvement, though. The POs work as they are. Sixth feels like a decent enough achievement over a season to warrant it; eighth feels like upper mid-table.

It’s easy. Top 2 go up. Bottom two go down. Top 2 team’s keepers play in a winner takes all Wembley game with one player sent from each of the other 20 teams. First person to score their team goes up.
