Feel a bit sorry for Moyes, cos it seems it was a bit of the Leeds United/Cloughie thing, where the players were entrenched in a doctrine and didn't react at all well to change.

Yep, and I don't think he was helped by Gill going. The new chairman was poor I the transfer windows and didn't back him. Look at how much Van Gaal has spent this year, and their back four and central midfield is still fairly poor.

Agree, he also didnt have £120M to spend either. Having said that i am not surprised given the Fellani price he paid!

not really reasons are they ....... and the 6th one just doesn't count :facepalm:

- how does getting angry in public make him a good manager exactly ? not saying he is or isn't but yesterdays press conference offered no proof he is destined for the top at all
- had we kept last years team then we would be all but bust ....... what do you think paid for this years budget not to mention the team had been found out before any of the players left so why would doing the same lead to winning the league........ as for 20000 fans really? I mean really?
- the players leaving going gave him his budget this year, one of the biggest in L1 so TF says, so what is there to complain about he brought the current players in didn't he
- bit early to compare with Strachan, in terms of success SP has had none that's the reality
- am sure carl heeley will be greatly reassured by your final comment

Whoever followed Ferguson was doomed really, you want to be the person that follows the person. Him going to Spain is pretty shrewd, like McLaren showing up his clownshoe England status by going over and winning the Dutch league.

I'm not sure we should value the opinion of a man who can't count.
I've posted this before but I think its worth repeating, here are 7 reasons he shouldn't:

1. Formations
Close season before last he sells McDonald because he will be playing 451 and won't need him, he then decides to switch to a 442 in which McDonald would have been very useful cover. He does later admit that this was an error to be fair but he does not replace him leaving us desperately short of cover after Clarke's departure.
Last close season he signs Swanson, O'brien and Coulibaly, all wingers, to play in his established 442. He then has his little World Cup Head Storm and switches to 352 leaving us with the wrong personel. The idea that you can play this system without proper wing backs is astonishing in itself.
After a disastrous start to the season he meekly switches back to 442 with hardly a mention!

2. Post-Match Interviews.
Just ridiculous. Full of superlatives and praise after abysmal performances to the point of farce. How can he be taken seriously?

3. Signings.
It does seem that he wouldn't know a player if he was beaten around the face and neck with one. Terrible record. Always banging on about DNA, it seems the required DNA for CCFC is somewhere around the bottom of the genetic barrel.

4. Loans
SP doesn't like loans, he told us so in no uncertain terms quite early in his tenure. We currently have 7.

5. Keepers.
It's plain for all to see that we have a problem here. But instead of bringing in an experienced keeper to steady the ship, SP signs a 7th striker.

6. The dressing room.
There are now indications that he has lost it.

no it isn't its your opinion........ and for a start off just keeping the players we had last season does not guarantee us winning the division or success just a better chance of it. Nothing as they say is certain in football ask the team that played Worcester on Sunday. The JPT semi final was a one off the other rounds were much lower crowds.

Sponsorship in L1 or even the Championship is far lower than the Premiership. The last deal we had in the Championship with City Link was £1m over 3 years I believe.

Paying too much for players is a large contributor to the mess we are in now. Second half of last season with many of the departed players still there we were found out and the results dropped alarmingly

In 2013 we made a 7m loss with average crowds of 11k which equated to match day income 3.0m and commercial income at 3.5m. That works out at approx. £10 per head per game in terms of matchday income. Extrapolate that to average crowds of 20000 including a couple of cup games at home that gives you match day income of £5m in total plus the commercial income. Yes wages are lower this season (but would not have been had those players stayed) but other costs are not and like it or not SISU investors will (a) not put more money in (b) take a return on their money - the current interest charge on the club is approx. £1.8m Really do not see any change left over that's for sure in fact to get in to the Championship and stay there I suspect would have required more money from the owners

Sorry but good though your scenario looks it is certainly not a dead cert. As it never happened it also not a reason why SP should stay long term or evidence of him being a top manager, its just opinion and wishful thinking

Just my opinion

Some people were calling for Pressley's head last season, something I was opposed to. I want this club to have some continuity, it needs rebuilding top to bottom, front to back. A bit like Ferguson had to do at Man United. What makes our task difficult is we are on a limited budget. Man Utd Ferguson, Everton Kendell, both almost paid the price during their rebuilding of their clubs, both fluked a stay of execution.

It will be one step forward two steps back, realistically a four year job.

Let's put this into context. Pressley still has to prove he is the man for the job and show progress, even if the progress is slow. I thought he deserved his new contract, but handing him a 4 year one was barmy. That is SISU for you.

I am still not joining the Pressley out bandwagon. He has been criticised for his post match comments, I have digested the criticisms and think they are a nonsense. One week he defends them too much doesn't say it as it is, next week ooo he should not criticise his players in public.

Bollocks! After Saturday the players, the team, deserved public shaming. I think they got off lightly. I think they should all donate a weeks wages to charity, because they didn't earn them on the pitch. It was not the defeat but the manner of it and Pressley has also called to question the reaction to it. He obviously feels certain people have been totally unprofessional in their approach and application. He is right, they have brought damage and embarrassment to the club. Totally unacceptable. Some of these problems Pressley is confronted with are endemic in football and the main reason our gates are so low...overpaid players, lack of professional commitment and lack of personal pride with no will to win.

It is early days for this team after a big forced rebuild in the summer. We still lack the spine the team needs. I would like to see some additions to the coaching staff and certainly see some money invested in our scouting network. All components of the overhaul the club requires.

Pressley isn't perfect, he needs developing and some support himself. But I do think he is genuinely passionate about the club and wants to be loyal. I hope we see a reaction from the players and we see some progress in attitude and work ethic if nothing else. If we don't, I am sure Pressley will pay the price in the next few months. Meanwhile certain individuals will continue to pick up wages which aren't justified and not be held to account for their own performances.
