Popular Coventry City owners SISU have unveiled their plans for a new stadium for the club. Having recently vacated the Ricoh Arena, the club will be playing at Northampton’s Sixfields Stadium for the next 3 years while the new stadium is built, and CEO Tim Fisher is delighted that a site has finally been identified.

Your matchday transport awaits.

“Because of the difficulty of finding a suitable site on land, we have decided to build a floating stadium in the sky” said Fisher yesterday. “Powered by invisible laser beams, the stadium will hover several thousand feet above the city, and we plan to breed a herd of flying unicorns to transport supporters to the new ground, which we are sure will prove popular.”
Fisher also revealed that the stadium capacity would be set at 300,000 seats. “With Coventry due to be playing in the Champions League by the year 2016, we will need the additional capacity when the likes of Barcelona & Bayern Munich come to visit” he said. “For league games, we will install a magic invisibility button which will instantly reduce the capacity to a more suitable 50,000.”

When asked about the difficulty of maintaining a decent playing surface at high altitude, Fisher was unconcerned. “We are working with a team of space alien groundsmen from the planet Quarg” he said. “Their playing surface is consistently rated the best in the galaxy, and they have agreed to act as consultants on the project.”
The Football League have already approved the new stadium plans. “Whilst we are concerned about the practicality of playing league football several thousand feet above the Earth, Mr Fisher has a lot of money” said a league spokesman yesterday.

Now, with the stadium being several thousand feet above the City, does this count as being within the City or outside?

Can you pay on the Pearly gate?
It's been endorsed by Blatter, but he thinks the stadium may need Air Con being so close to the sun,.......oh wait a minute
