Sorry but I fear it was always going to be the case that it would fail - They could have approached ACL any time to get a deal but have steadfastly refused to do so. That is not however to decry Michael for trying

But then again in my opinion I do not think that Fishers comments about the idea failing because no access to match income hold much water either. Rent deals simply do not give a capital return of any sort...... that is what SISU needs - capital return

I do fear that this talk of perhaps bringing back the club even on a short term rent is nothing more than empty words and posturing - because SISU know they will never get the terms they want

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but.... if Timmy really believes himself when he says "these discussions have never been about rent.“The discussion is around revenues. This club needs to control and manage its matchday revenues...If there were an interim deal on the table, do you not think we would pay the rent?"
If that's the case, why did you shake hands on a rental deal that excluded revenues, only to be overruled by Joy. Ever since then, you've spouted her new line on revenues, but not before.

“We are fully aware of the local businessman behind this. He is part of the problem, not the solution.”
Also, it's worth pondering the above: presuming that he means Gary Hoffman, who has been mentioned by others as being being the KCIC offer: how exactly is Gary "part of the problem"?

No, sorry. Just because he was doing something commendable doesn't mean the pick up the phone stuff wasn't valid. And that was all from himself, nothing Sisu said.

Just because you're a good guy, doesn't make you perfect or absolve you from criticism.

A-men.

And you can have the best of intentions, but still do more harm than good by distracting from other avenues. As said at the time, he's given them umpteen reasons to reject an offer and to string it out longer by giving those reasons. All this rejection does is make such a forecast more likely.

What like calling all loyal fans worms? To be fair I may owe him an apology - he may be the one who called them scum - I forget.

TBF, turns out if was Hoffman behind it (surprise!) so probably wouldn't have gone anywhere regardless of communication method used.

The thing with not wanting Hoffman or Elliot involved (paging Deleted member 5849) is that it is becoming increasingly clear that they are in fact the only people with money supporting the Sky Blues (obviously apart from Grendel), so any fan led initiative is going to involve them somehow. Not sure how you overcome that.

Not so.

Their visibility, in fact, and attempt to position as only choice detracts from other possibilities.

(Cassidys made an offer for the club when McGinnity was in charge for one, don'tcha know)

But their attempt to position as only alternative by lots of noise, is in fact pretty similar to SISU's arrival, that posited them as *only* choice, so pressure was put on shareholders to give up shares, and generally unedifying deals.

Sweep out the old, dismal failures whoever they are. Do not cling to the past and their disastrous choices which they fail to explain away.

See the future and it can be sky blue with the absence of *all* from the past.

Or put another way, just because I dislike dog shit, does not mean I then tuck into a cat shit cheesecake.

Kind of disappointed he has his own rent deal MO tbh, you'd think he'd vary it a bit.

Also kind of disappointed he uses an MO for his MO.

Has it been confirmed it was the Hoff now?

Yes, by the Cov Telegraph article at least.

IMO SISU's refusal to do a deal just proves once and for all that they don't care about the fans, they will happily keep the club hostage in Northampton for as long as it takes to get the deal they want. They could go back to the Ricoh, but because they won't take a bit of a hit and do a deal, they won't. It's not the same as being as kept out of Coventry.

Hardly news, but Michael's offer has well and truly smoked them out - probably this was Michael's main real intention in the first place. I always thought they would decline the offer, just a question of which bullshit excuses they would come out with.

The numbers just don't make sense. I'm wracking my brains trying to think of when any business has so wilfully destroyed its product, systematically ostracised itself from its customer base, studiously wrecked its key supplier relationships whilst pursuing galactically wasteful court adventures... SURELY there's a case to consider re their "Fit and Proper" status as a custodian of a Football League Club before yet another calamitous inevitability strikes?

I take the rent offers more as an exercise in pointing out the financial folly of us staying in Sixfields than any serious attempt to help Sisu out. Yes they are entirely pointless and no better than Sisu doing it themselves, but isn't that the point.

And as I said earlier, it seems it's going to be kinda hard to create deals for the club involving these sums of cash and not involved GH/JE, as much as that might stick in the craw. I'd happily back the same deal if I was a millionaire (though I imagine I'd get just as much suspicion from Sisu ) but I'm not and beggars can't be choosers.

Like I say, if a proper bid for the club comes in then I'll ask serious questions, but as a thorn in the side trying to get the club home, they're OK by me.

How about all those that went to the Ricoh go to Sixfields this season.
Oh sorry forgot that we all can't get in.
Surely Sisu didn't plan to stop real fans attending ?

Thanks for remembering though.

Are you Grendels partner because I will never be an ex supporter.
I have standards, unlike you, and will not be fed bullshit by Sisu and then try and justify it.

Now is the time to get Sisu to the party and get them talking to ACL. Go on shake a fist at them if you are not frightened to upset Fisher.

So it turns out Hoffman was behind the deal, makes you wonder why he felt the need to hide behind Michael in the first place. I personally think he is as big a charlatan as Haskell and Dhinsa and his last deal was ridiculous.

That said... SISU have no real reason to keep avoiding a deal to return to Ricoh, even if only short term.

Get in a room and tell ACL what you want from a short term deal, and what you are actually going to concede to make a deal happen. Don't tell us about it until it is done.

Ian I don't often agree with you sir but this gets a thumbs up from me.

Getting short term low rent deal is not going to boost ACLs position at all so it will still be devalued but at least they have the fans on side and make a lot more money than at Northampton.

Makes no sense to stay at Northampon now after a clear judges verdict that embarrassed them.

"Shake a fist at Fisher"

The sum total of your considered opinion. The smallminded myopia of your criticism of anyone who thinks for themselves rather than you who does nothing really is still astounding.

As is your hypocrisy and believing anyone who disagrees with you doesn't have "standards"

Never once on here have I defended SISU (often the opposite) but you read what you want to read I suppose.

I would never give up on the power of protest. It always works when it is both unified and justified.
In this case it is eminently justifiable, but sadly, until now, it has never been unified.
