Is this a new judicial review or the appeal of the old one that got thrown out and strongly critisised by the presiding judge?

If the former are we going to keep having Judicial Reviews until ACL run out of money?

Freefall from the Premier League?? I doubt that... More of a stumble and eventual collapse.

You don't appeal it I think. It's a fresh case. No judgement was made by the court on the other as it was thrown out.

It would appear that SISU are simply asking the Courts to make the Council hand over any documents that helps SISU's case for the pending Judicial review. If they believe that evidence is being suppressed they can ask the courts to act, as is their right.

It does not mean that such documents exist that proves SISU's case. It is simply SISU claiming that they must, as they believe the action to force a Judicial review was valid.

I see it as a supporting action for the appeal against the Judicial review, and not something completely new.

This tells us one thing. Therw is no chance of SISU and CCC ever doing busniess again. The relatipnship is not strained but fuckin snapped beyond repair.

SISU will lose this one AGAIN.

They like spending lots of time in court dont they.

Million dollar question? Why are they following this a second time when they have "moved on" and building thier own arena?

The cretins make me sick. And it should all coventry city fans

What I don't get is that surely they have decent lawyers, what makes them think they have a case? Why are they so determined if it is that clear cut?

There is a certain irony in this new request for this disclosure from a democratically elected body.

Those Companies based in tax havens enjoy the privilege of non disclosure of documents, ownership and financial reporting in their business dealings that take place in democratic territories, in addition to the tax advantages that are gained.

All of course within the law.

Is this in the clubs, and fans, best interests? Will it hasten a return, which I thought everyone was now united in trying to achieve?

Could they not do this with a freedom of information request first rather than involving the lawyers?

its standard business practice for sisu - have you read the mirror report about sisu? They are even considered sharks in the financial world! They will open case after case untl the other side are worn down and give in!

Well done for Ms Lucas to sticking to your guns!

Please sisu supporters now you must surely admit if they remain in charge there is only one direction for the club - and it aint up!

There is someone close to me who works for a firm of City lawyers. The firm has a client with a property portfolio worth several billions and they initiate dozens of actions for this client every year, most of which are without merit and end in failure. The firm has no option but to accept the instructions of the client.

Why do they do it? Because it brings pressure and causes distress to the party that the property company has a dispute with.

Because sadly lawyers get paid a large fee by the hour and some of them will take on nearly any case (For the avoidance of any doubt I'm not suggesting that is the case here but it has been known to happen). Also Joy is used to getting her own way and isn't afraid to resort to the courts if she isn't getting it. The only thing that really surprises me is that the Higgs haven't been targeted yet by SISU as surely they must be considered fair game as one of the ACL shareholders.

The law is an industry in itself. There may be some merit in this case although I agree that it is mostly just litigation for its own sake. Who knows though. It's a big move to ask for open disclosure. If the council's books are clean it makes SISU look stupid.

Yes they could.

The Council could refuse the request for any number of reasons which would require an appeal, if they wished to be awkward.

They could also say that no such documents exist, which would result in the need to go to Court to gain access if they truly believed the documents exist.

It could also be clever PR of again putting pressure on the Council by claiming that it is SISU that is the victim in this, due to the behaviour of the Council. And it is SISU that are standing up to the greater bully to get the truth.

No smoke without fire is a good explanation of some of the accusations flying around. Sometimes however you need to make the smoke yourself in the hope that people will think there is a fire.

imho,
apart from being a futile exploit,
it smacks to me of either;
a woman scorned, or attempting gold digger(s), at work,
either way, if the true British system of justice prevails,
i think, we all know, which outfit will have a BIG bill to pay,
so much for all the tedious masked rhetoric about a new stadium / moving on / etc.,
& therefore for Arvo-sisu-otium - dog spot bottle of pop, old mother reilly & her cow, went to mow the wrong meadow,
the reply is ...................................................
in the 'Delia' mode,
come on TF let's be 'avin you !

This sums the current situation up very nicely.
Sisu poorly timed, poorly judged.

The application wouldn't have gone in today. Did CCC or ACL know about it prior to it going in?

The article in the Telegraph reads exactly that the application was made today.
