Does it??

Both sides in this dispute have signed the petition, so my lack of signing it is not related to any particular viewpoint.

Football generally does need a huge overall. But personally I find it hypocritical me paying for my Sky Sports subscription knowing that (indirectly) it is massively inflating the football market as a whole - and then signing a petition complaining about how the game has been ruined by money and people that have it.

May I suggest you read the E-petition thread.
Because by not signing it shows that you are happy with the current situation of Coventry playing in Northampton !!!
There is more than one way you can be a hypocrite !!

It's not really though is it. It's a half baked attempt to complain about our situation and also general governance in football.

So because I didn't sign a petition that didn't break 20k I don't care about those things?

Sorry but it has made fuck all difference. 160,000 signed a petition to not pick Tom Cleverly in the WC squad in 2 days. That's how much of an impact it didn't make.

Maybe that is it. Every true Coventry fan HAS signed it?
The rest of the City/out of town "Fans" from 1987 &/or JPT semi don't really give a damn.

What was it about the petition that made it unacceptable to you to sign?

Personally the idea of 'fixing' football is a reasonable notion, but I don't think that when it comes down to it people would be prepared to accept everything that goes with it.

Our situation aside, Cardiff and Hull are happy for their owners to spend multi million amounts in order to be promoted to PL. Then when these owners want to adapt/change certain aspects then fans start moaning about the modern game being ruined/foreign owners etc. Now they may have a point to a certain extent, but I don't see why they should have it both ways. If you're gonna take the money to 'buy' success then you have to potentially accept that said owners may want to do/change things.
Then there's the TV money - leading to inflation of players wages, Obsession with the Champions Leaue (which I hate) and the lack of support of the national team. Sky has ruined football in England for everyone outside of the PL.

Would fans be happy if it was all taken away? Not at all.

Would it ever happen? Not a chance... Only way it will is if a big PL club went to the wall.

As for our situation - I want everything out in the open going back the last 20 years. Not just SISU, the Council, McGinnity, Robinson, Richardson - no more confidentiality clauses or agreements. Sorry but I don't think the petition addresses that at all. And as a result I feel it comes across as a bit lost in its message.

Remember all the sides in the dispute signed the petition, but I don't think they really meant it. Just another PR exercise.

Ian.....what would be the point of going back over the McGinnity/ Robinson years? Shitzu should have done their due diligence prior to buying the club and if anything untoward was revealed then that should have have been dealt with then. To rake over the past does our club no favours. Deal in the present.

How does sisu not doing due diligence help our situation? That was 7 years ago - how is that relevant now?

Depressingly that is true. And when you take off the sympathy signatures from fans of other clubs we are left with, what, 15,000 genuine fans?
