Yep. Change of locality = loss of local jobs. Inevitable.

These are a few ball boys ffs!! This isn't a car manufacturer moving it's base to save them £millions...as I said major PR gaffe...the latest in a very long line of them from custodians who will kill the club sooner rather than later.

You are right to an extent. However I wonder if the players are having to relocate? Or will have to simply carry on making their own way to NTFC on match days like they do to the Ricoh? Or will try meet somewhere local such as Ryton & travel together on a club funded bus?

It's ridiculous to think they'd take ground staff with them. And to be frank, if they did say they'd minibus the ballboys, you know the reaction here would be "lame PR attempt by SISU, we ain't fooled!"

Corporate dumbness on an industrial scale. I'm beginning to think they have employed a stupid ideas person.

I think ball boys are a slightly different and probably more emotive issue than ground staff in general and I don't think the reaction if they did offer them the chance to remain would be anywhere near as negatively vocal. It's a fair point however and it just goes to show that whatever SISU do they will never please the vast majority of the fans. It's way too late for them now and the only way the club can move forward is if they piss off and give someone else a chance.

They're not ground staff. They're current and future supporters. I remember when I was a kid and the thrill of being involved with a team photoshoot organised by the club. Calling them ground staff frankly shows the lack of footballing soul that sisu are displaying in spades!

No doubt that it's tough on the kids. Everybody will have sympathy for them. But it is disingenuous to think that any ownership would have made an exception. If this reaction lasts, I'd wager that SISU would pay to bus them over; but it will be a non-issue in a week, and we all know it.

I very much doubt any other ownership would have been daft enough to move away from Coventry in the first place.

When I was nine, I wrote in to the club, asking if I could be mascot. They replied, saying, erm, bit unusual, but OK, how about Oxford United Tuesday fortnight? Turn up at King Richard Street seven-ish with your old man and there'll be a couple of tickets for you. You'll need to wear the home kit. If you haven't got one, take this letter to the shop and they'll sell you one half-price.

And that was me. If there had been any danger of losing interest or supporting someone else, there wasn't any longer. They must have thousands from me in the thirty years since.

God knows what would happen if someone sent a letter in to a top division club. "We refer you to our 'Mascot Package', £999 ..." perhaps.

I think this was a move always likely to happen as will be using NTFC ground staff, would expect that to be announced, especially as most stewards etc have rejected a move - the club will terminate their employment. Might even find NTFC insist on their own stewards to meet health & safety arrangements for the stadium

Does that make it palatable no, these boys are another link severed with the City. our City.

I would have thought the clever way to have done it would have been to provide transportation, perhaps make the arrangements a little difficult and allow the numbers to drop off naturally whilst replacing with kids at NTFC. There will in any case be a number of the ball boys that would not have gone because they or their parents reject the move to NTFC or simply got too old. No one would have know..... and therefore no story

Just more bad PR created by the owners

You stated that any owner would have done the same thing. I said that any other owner would not have taken the club away from Coventry and this situation would not have arisen!
Seems clear enough!

Mustard's just waiting for the messiah Eric Black to return and guide us to glory like he did over half a season almost 10 years ago. It's SISU's master plan.

Based on that lad who sits on the corner flag at the JSB end, I'd assume they have no age limit. He's about 26!!

Given that you keep bringing it up on random occasions, yes, it is a chip. I mean, just read what you wrote: it's a thousand miles away from any discussion of ball boys. Chip.
