A partially sited friend of mine and his wife who is disabled have stopped going for similar reasons.
My Mum who is 80 has a caravan in Derbyshire that she drives up to every other week by herself, but will not drive to Tescos at the Arena because she don't know the roads !!

i do know how he feels. i miss going up the game and after 26 years as a ST holder it hurts not being able to watch MY team in MY city but i dont come on here and bleat the same garbage every other day and using the "Im 72 and been a supporter for X amount of years" is a sympathy vote.
Im all for the NOPM brigade and i will only go to sixfields and watch from the hill (which is what Im doing on Saturday) but Im not going to come on here and tell everyone i CAN'T go because i CAN and choose not to.
and what's your mums shopping got to do with anything?

So you can go, but the point is that some people really can't.
The guy was saying he like routine and cannot manage change.
I'm pointing out that some older are unable to go distance. My 2 friends were an example.
As for my Mum, the point is that she is in a routine and even a simple thing like going to a different shop is not possible. Some people cannot make changes that appear easy to others.

Overall SISU move to Northampton is affecting peoples attendance for lots of reasons other than just distance and principle.

Returns to the Ricoh has not been offered though has it? Don't you think the council should be pro active in seeking to retain its football club at the stadium it helped complete for the city? Now if a genuine approach was made to the club with an offer that was seen to be generous then we would all support it. That's when we find out if sisu want to do the right thing. Lukas made a statement last week but what has transpired since?

I think Nick is getting grilled too harshly. When I read his comments at first, I agreed wit them. Only after reading other comments about some elderly folk being reluctant to change routines that I understood a different viewpoint.

But VOR is very active on this site and (mostly) comes up with good and reasoned points. So, to be fair to Nick, VOR doesn't come across as one of those people who is stuck in his ways. It is a fair question to ask about whether away games are an alternative, isn't it? All it would take is a reply to explain why not and then the question is dealt with.

VOR I think you and the majority of fans should actually be proud in the boycott of Sixfields. In many ways the spirit and unity of the club and it's supporters is there in that action.
