The bottom line is the money being spent here could have been spent on a new striker. It could have probably bought Madine.

Well at least we know where the Wilson money is going now

First heard from a friend who works at Portland that they had been appointed over 3 months ago.

I was amazed by the news as the idea of most League One club's using a PR company of the reputation of Portland is laughable. Their clients are typically multinational blue chip corporates like McDonalds, Nestle, Apple and Pfizer (all listed on the latest PRCA register) if anyone is interested. It's a bit like someone with a terraced house worth £100k using Clifford Chance to do their conveyancing.

I think you're right. SISU could save themselves a bundle of money on a PR firm by just firing Fisher.

I'm convinced It would also add 4-5K to the gate but not so sure how long It would last ,maybe 2-3 K over the season .

how much would that add to the coffers £700-£800K.

Why haven't CCFC been attacked for using PR, come on all those attacks on CCC for using Weber Shandwick & Wasps for their "PR machine", surely everyone should be treated equally.

CCC using Weber Shandwick is arguably worse given they are spending taxpayers' money.

People take the piss out of Wasps because they denied it when complimented.

Now if Tim Fisher comes out and says there is no pr company Id equally take the piss.

Maybe because for months everyone has been saying CCFC should make an effort with their PR and do better! Wasps get stick as they claim not to be doing PR when they clearly are. As far as CCC using Weber Shandwick you could make an argument that it's not a good use of taxpayers money.

Wasn't that the debate, can't really remember but didn't PWKH say they had been engaged by Higgs and CCC at no cost to the charity, implying CCC had footed the bill and CCC then refused to answer a FOI request as it was a commercial transaction relating to ACL. Have a vague memory of something like that.

According to Cov City Mad SISU have brought in Portland Communication to handle PR. Not a bad idea as their PR has been terrible but of course people will need to see action as well as words.

Shhhhh, you're not meant to tell people when you've brought a PR firm in...

I work in the PR world in London and heard about this months ago. Portland are one of the most well known PR companies in the UK - they do Heathrow Airport's PR for example. They certainly do not come cheap and over a period of a year it is likely that easily six figures will be being charged.

What I and so many other fans cannot understand is that SISU appear to have a bottomless pit of money to spend on legal fees and PR but nothing to spend on the team or anything related to football. Can someone please put this to Fisher or Waggott next time they are interviewed.

So it probably came down to a choice between signing up Portland and signing up Madine. Well, Portland won't win us football matches...

CCC responded to an FOI saying they weren't using Weber Shandwick or spending money on a PR firm re: the Ricoh situation.
Ironic that SISU were scathing of ACL using a London-based PR firm and they've now done the same thing.

I thought for a moment that they'd hired Portland Enterprises ( http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/arch...&the_id=Portland+Enterprises+(C.I.)+Ltd.html) which certainly would have livened up the half time entertainment

I doubt that very much, it would just be another SISU stooge appointed to take the fall

What a load of highly concentrated bull shit. We don't need PR monkeys, we need owners who understand Football, Football Fans and community.

Whilst the madam has a hole in her *^**, she will never understand.

If we are now swimming alone as I believe we are and Fisher the failure Is on the naughty step unable to extract the pocket money ,just what use Is he ?

The Charm offensive Is on ,the game to extract finance from the local business community .

If that Is required It should be for shares In CCFC .

That aim would be better served through a local Entrepreneur acting as Chairman stating the case, not withstanding the positive effect of

Fisher moving on aiding this, ticket incomes etc.

They have little chance of succeeding in this otherwise IMO.

Bring in PR and try rebuild your image SISU. But fans will never forget the following:

* Moving the club to Northampton to distress ACL

* Court cases while non funding of the team.

* This new fantasy stadium in "3 weeks"

* Club shop empty.

I could go on but whats the point? The image is one no amount of PR can resolve. Fans dont forget, treat us like crap, dont expect to spend some money on PR and everyone now think your brilliant.

I prefer to use my own eyes to see how your PR is. Not some company from London trying to portray an image of sisu.

I will then......

3 transfer embargos

"60% of income will go to SP", yet no Clarke or Wilson money

Board members sitting on the bench

tape over our sponsors name as we didnt have a sponsor

"we are debt free"

Arsenal money and Christie money?

Appealing the convincing Jr verdict.

Ripping the soul and heart it of the club and we played outside Coventry for the first in our history.

Telling lie after lie

Treating the fans with so much bollocks it's untrue.

Skimping on every way possible.

Land purchased and foi saying nothing of the sort.

Start winning matches and a serious shot at promotion and I reckon a lot of people would, if not forget, at least not be too bothered that SISU were still around. Of course that would require either a massive fluke or SISU to get their act together.

I've just come home and I'm pissed but I would have thoughb the best PR would be to say WE ARE REALLY SORRY we made a big mistake when we wentb to Northampton we know weve frucked up but we want your forgiveness. How can we make it up to you.

Answer fucking listen to the fans for a change.
