According to Cov City Mad SISU have brought in Portland Communication to handle PR. Not a bad idea as their PR has been terrible but of course people will need to see action as well as words.

It says they've doing PR for the new stadium but I wouldn't have thought you'd have 2 PR companies for something the size of CCFC. Were they still using Advent? The PR was poor so if they were a change can't hurt. This new lot look pretty big hitters judging by their website but the best PR in the world is of no use if they don't have something worth promoting!

To do that, the first thing to do would be to dissassociate the Club and SISU in people's perceptions.

Oh, hang on

I wonder if we will see any new sign ups on here

You would like to think they would do a proper job and not make it completely obvious like other people do

They should've brought in WS. You'd and others would believe everything they say then.

Looking at their staff list I'm hoping Alastair Campbell and Michael Portillio sign up and join in the UKIP debate!

I actually think you are right. JS could scapegoat TF, engage the fans, explain that she needs them.

It would save a lot of money on PR suited types.

It's going to take more than P.R. for me. Get rid of Fisher, put up or shut up with the new stadium, what are the long term plans and how are going to achieve them? Then i would need to see these plans being achieved with openness and no court cases unless it was to protect CCFC not to try and 'batter people' into submission. In other words become football, club owners buying into what that means- IE community, aspiration, dreams reaching and stretching for success. Not bullying, being distant and disengaging.

Oh and stop trying to divide and conquer the fans. We were, are and will be the club, before they came, while they were here and once they have gone.

I remember Campbell kicking off live on Sky once and as for Portaloo....

Can you imagine those pair in front if a Sky-Blues supporter gathering in a pub in Cov???

Count me in - we could sell tickets.

I work in the PR world in London and heard about this months ago. Portland are one of the most well known PR companies in the UK - they do Heathrow Airport's PR for example. They certainly do not come cheap and over a period of a year it is likely that easily six figures will be being charged.

What I and so many other fans cannot understand is that SISU appear to have a bottomless pit of money to spend on legal fees and PR but nothing to spend on the team or anything related to football. Can someone please put this to Fisher or Waggott next time they are interviewed.

If you think the use of Weber Shandwick escaped scrutiny in the Coventry Telegraph, I suggest you go back thorough some old articles!

The bottom line is the money being spent here could have been spent on a new striker. It could have probably bought Madine.

That dispels that myth then .

I'd have sworn they were dropping a team who I think dealt with us In the Prem ,definitely In the Champ for a third division /Loanee arrangement .

so roughly the same amount of money spent on this then could have been on Madine !

But its all about the product on the pitch !

Advent have been doing limited work for them for some time. Still involved, but not on a major level I understand.

Many PR companies have come and gone over the years. They even employed the PR man used by Paul Appleton (before he used him) for a very brief time.

I also understand Weber Shandwick are no longer retained by ACL.

Was it channel four news where he turned up in the middle class their live broadcast and demanded a live interview there and then as someone had said they don't like Tony Blair?

Campbell not Portillo that is.

I strongly suspect Campbell and Portillo would be used only for their senior counsel. I very much doubt they would be working on this day in day out. If they are then the fees would be probably be astronomical.

I hope they didn't write "the way forward" statement that went up on the clubs website the other day.

I think you're right. SISU could save themselves a bundle of money on a PR firm by just firing Fisher.

To be honest I don't think there's much wrong with that statement, it seems a pretty standard way to operate a football club. The problem is nobody believes it because it comes out of the club so they have to start actioning things. If people start to see them following up on statements like this then maybe they'll be more inclined to believe what they say in the future.

Wasps have their own in-house comms team. And it's not just one man and his dog!
