This is a great question. If its based on what they were like when we had them & how we try to play now then I'd go for McAllister & Adebola
Wilson and MaddisonIt's been 20 years now. You can take 2 players from the ones we've had since being relegated from the Premiership (not in their prime but as we had them at the time) to add into the current team/squad who are you taking?
I'll start off with Wise and Armstrong.
It would surely have to be from first season in championship. Our strongest best finish... Jeez who would we need most right now.
David Thompson and Mo Konjic
No we finished 11th that season - we were doing well with not long left but Jim Smith bought in a bunch of ex Derby players
Our best Championship season was the first season at the Ricoh where we finished 8th but still a while of the play offs
Wise and King I think. Tempted by Madders and Wilson but I think we need a bit more nous.
Also if Wise could do for Hamer what he did for Doyle
I would rule out Wilson (just) & Maddison... Kids in L1.

Even Wise himself acknowledged his career was basically over by that point. We gave him the offer of another year, but he didn't want it. No-one else apparently could persuade him otherwise and he never played again.
The overhead kicks and shithousery from a name brand player were fun for a dozen games, but this idea that he's a City all-timer seems like small sample size wishful thinking to me. I have little doubt he would have gone full Lee Mills if we gave him a long-term deal.
Surely the point is whether what he had could improve us right now? I think he could. In another 13 games Sheaf and Hamer could have learnt lots from him and be ready to take over the mantle.
