Isn’t it obvious what the game is? We’re struggling to move on the likes of Simms, Bassette etc. and until we do I’d be amazed if King sanctions another forward coming in.Get someone else in quick then!
If they can teach Simms to trap a ball and not make the bounce off him go further than where it was passed from then we might be onto something

I think it’s more likely that Lampard was / is looking for a reaction from him - to get him to show his hunger - and he’s not showing the fight or desire required.
Bassette, by comparison, would appear to have been bombed out. Simms does seem to be a different case.

The thing is, he can. The game against Wolves showed the Simms we need, yet havent seen since. The ability is there, but his application is frustrating. Often heard others say he needs confidence but I think it's somethig else and that it's his mind that's the issue (and we can't seem to change that). Conclusion same as yours though, he needs to move on if we can manage it.Haha this style of play thing is nonsense.
He should thrive off how we play given the number of crosses we put in the box, but he doesn’t.
He’s not good enough to hold the ball up and link play. He doesn’t make good runs off the ball, his movement is non-existent. And he’s not a good striker of the ball either.
I’ve seen this argument a number of times but I’d like to hear a system that would suit him? Because I don’t think there is one, he’s just not good enough.

I think that’s what FL has been alluding to - in general - and everyone has assumed is Bassette and/or Raphael, but it seems to be a challenge to the entire squad. Only way to reinforce it is to restrict minutes on the pitch.
