Simms was parked at the Casino, not the Players car park.
All of last season he was with the others.
Eccles also by the Casino, they both left around 1
hours after the game, separately but within a minute of each other.
Seemed a bit odd.

I spent a long time making excuses for him as many on here were having a go at him. The problem is that ultimately, a player has to have drive and determination to succeed.

He shows none of it. He doesn't celebrate when he scores. It's unnatural. Any manager can only do so much. It has to come from the player.

Nothing would make me happier than for him to somehow prove me wrong but I just can't see it.

You're all missing the point, why wasn't he with the rest of the team?
Like all of last season.

Should have signed Oli McBurnie at least he has some aggression in his game, not seen this from Simms at all.

Exactly! If he could add that sort of aggression he'd be a nightmare for defenders

Im with you here. Hes young enough to be given a proper chance..like Asante/Wright.

A year ago he finished on 19 goals.

He scored a decent goal in his cameo the other week.

We will find out in a week or two if hes just out of favor or on the move.

Could be managed better i think..mixed messeges from the gaffer.

Is up…

Lampard doesn’t rate him and he didn’t play at all during the play offs not even 5mins and can’t get on the pitch in a game like this.

He got some chances in the friendlies as he was rotating but when it comes to the league he doesn’t seem to trust him.

This saga needs to end as a bad purchase and we take what we can for him.

I really wanted it to work for him as I like most had high hopes with his potential.

Will be best for both parties as he clearly needs a different environment and we need better.

But why would he make the squad / bench, if we had no intention of playing him and/or there was this alleged payment clause? It doesn’t make sense. The only reason I can think of is to show potential suitors that he is match fit, but even that seems illogical to me.

I think it’s more likely that Lampard was / is looking for a reaction from him - to get him to show his hunger - and he’s not showing the fight or desire required.

Bassette, by comparison, would appear to have been bombed out. Simms does seem to be a different case.

I think the hunger/desire thing is probably it. The payment trigger rumours that become facts always turn out to be bollocks.

So assuming Frank is not going to play Simms and is looking to move him on - What do we think Simms' transfer value is? Surely Doug would be looking to recoup a significant percentage of what he paid.

Simms last start was against Boro at home last game of the season. We played well that day. Simms was quiet, but smashed a first time shot just wide early on. He hasn't played since. Are we saying had he scored that day, he would of still been benched and not used for the 2 semi finals? At the same time though, I cannot see why he hasn't seen any minutes in the last 3 games (+ 30 mins extra time), where we have scored only 2 goals.

Does this talk of a further payment if he plays another game, mean we have to wait until after the window closes to see if he stays? If he does we cough up to Everton, but can we afford to be without him until then, talk about screwing up our chance for a good start!

I really really doubt there is a future payment to Everton and if I’m wrong and there is that isn’t the reason he isn’t playing.

Probably to keep away from the fans we waited after a game last year and he didn’t want to engage couldn’t wait to get away.

In that case, does Frank really have it in for him? We need all hands on deck and everybody to pull together, we don’t need to hamstring ourselves, play him or sell him but quickly

The less game time hes getting the better he appears to get.

He'd of been in the hull centre halves pocket on Saturday, they looked strong and determined, and gave very little room to move.

No one on here was screaming for Simms when the teams were announced.
He's only getting mentioned because we failed to score, but my guess is Wright will be starting upfront in a week or two.

It's very simple. He hasn't played becuase in Lampard's and the coaching staff's eyes, he isn't good enough and doesn't warrant any minutes.

As fans we see the performances and attitude during matches and we can form a view from that. Lampard and the coaches see that plus every day at training. They have the complete picture. He's not playing because he isn't good enough to lead our line. It's harsh but there's nothing else to it.

Simms’ problem is he has all the attributes but doesn’t use them. There’s a player in there but he’s just too passive

Simms is 100% good enough to lead our line, whether FL and his coaching staff think otherwise, if it is his attitude, then it is up to Lampard and co to get his hed straight, if not like someone else said, play him or sell him but in this window.

Yep, we're defo at the point now where the idea of Simms is better than the reality. The reality is mainly him ambling around looking disinterested and doing fuck all.
Time to move on.

If they can teach Simms to trap a ball and not make the bounce off him go further than where it was passed from then we might be onto something

If somebody could upset him coming out the tunnel so he gets a bit of fire in his belly it might help, if he is a worse striker than Asante then he needs to look for another career.

I’d be absolutely amazed if he hasn’t read the tea leaves around his lack of a future under Lampard. It’s a simple equation. He’s our third best striker behind Wright and BTA.

When the gaffer doesn't give you any minutes in games like the play off finals and Saturday when we were very poor up front then I think the writing is on the wall.
