Ive moaned on a few threads after todays game mainly about our 'potent' midfield... But just to provide some balance I was very impressed with Jackson. He seems an intelligent striker and he gambles off Madine. I think the two of the them could be a real threat if we actually recruit some midfielders and wingers who can supply them.

I liked the variation we had in our attack today

Nouble dribbling and running at the defence with the ball
Madine as a focal point, holding up the ball
Jackson trying to feed of flick ons, running in behind and running the channels

Lots of different options to keep the defence guessing and I'd persist with it for a few games, sort of a crappier, lower quality version of Moussa, Clarke and Wilson from last season.

Would rather get a proper left winger instead of Nouble but I do agree to an extent, Madine has been crying out for someone to play around and off him, and make runs being him and jackson did that today.

Nouble well first half but was anonymous second half, and often over did it or his final ball was poor. His lack of left foot made him predictable in the second half.

yeah it cant be a 1 off experiment, give it 5-6 games.

with 3 strikers on pitch and more shots on target at least fans will have a lil more patience.

I think if managed correctly and with a decent supply from midfield, the three of them would be able to get 15-20 each at this level. If Pressley hadn't pissed around with 1 to 2 to 3 striker combo's for the past few months we may have already seen a higher influx than the measly return we have at the moment. I would rather the 3 of them on the pitch than Madine supported by bloody Finch and Barton!

It will take a good couple of games for it to work, he can't keep changing the lineup and strikers every game and expect them to score loads.

You could see today that Madine and Jackson can link up well, that touch towards the end from Jackson to Madine to play him through was class!

Don't worry about Madine he will be off elsewhere in my opinion, won't be offered a contract here and someone will nick him.

I'm sure an offer will be on the table, but I will be pleasantly surprised if it is good enough to keep him.

Didn't like Noubles role much yesterday, but thought Jackson fit in well and linked up well with Madine.

Long may it continue

agreed.

I thought all three did well at times but lacked consistency. Nouble looked dangerous one second but hesitant and lost the next, like he's either going to go on one of those marauding runs and score or trip over the ball and give away a throw. No grey area.

Nouble did ok particularly 1st half yesterday but reminded me of Adebola at times. Didnt really have the ball under control at times. Would love us to have a natural left sided midfielder. I mentioned on another thread Maghoma from Sheff Weds would be ideal in my view.

Would be a great signing, but then we don't have a pot to piss in and we hardly make great signings anymore.
