I take it you never listened to certain posters on here that will have told you several times that players would have signed if we were at Northampton as much as at the Ricoh

That wasn't true apparently when I pointed it out, when we were considering moving.
When Pressley and the players themselves said it. It think it was then accepted by the tiny but very load minority

Money isn't everything to everyone. But to those that it is they don't see it. And also if any of the players were wanted by two clubs or more for the same money would they choose a club playing in Northampton or one playing at the Ricoh which would be more stable?

Don't forget that due to the incompetence of the owners in failing to file accounts, the manager has been subjected to at least two player transfer embargoes and so missed out on many of his first-choice targets. Also, he was constrained by having little or no money and playing at a League 2 ground 35 miles away, factors that would hardly attract the cream of the crop.

Those mitigating factors are ignored for this particular campaign but are mentioned regularly otherwise. I asked for the net figure but that wasn't forthcoming.

Yes but there wouldn't have been a budget for any team if we'd hung on to those players at that time in THAT place.

Add in Moussa and we would win the league. I am utterly convinced of that. Those 4 would have made a huge difference.

Can I also point out that over the same time period roughly, Chris Coleman brought in 34 players.

I look back at the players Pressley has brought in and being very honest I am not overly concerned with the players that SP has brought in, more to the fact that these players have probably been the best available at that time.

This summer was the first summer in which Pressley was able to bring in players without restriction and having seen them I would say the only players that I would have doubts over at the moment are Tudgay, Allsopp and possibly Coulibaly, that said I am willing to forgive Coulibaly for the fact that the system changed as he arrived, as it did the year before.

"ignored" ?

What is this campaign ?, Presley out, Presley praised, waggott out, waggott praised, sisu praised for reducing wage bill to a more manageable level, sisu not spending enough, player turnover is high, player turnover is less than Coleman ?

His working conditions for the first 18mths here were probably the hardest any manager anywhere has had to endure for a long time. Its unfair to judge him on that, give him 18mths from the start of the last transfer window and see how he can manage in a fair working environment, even if it is with a limited budget.
I have more faith and optimism in Pressley than ive had in any manager here for as long as i can remember, maybe had a little during Eric Blacks tenure, but apart from him there hasnt been a manager here that has filled me anything like the optimism for the future the way Pressley has.

Success or failure i really would like to see him given patience and time, with a little luck he may do it!
We will know by the end of the season in reality.

To be fair, on another post on here, you've said the purpose of the thread was to highlight that we've signed 31 players in SPs time here. You've done that on the 1st post.

Job done, case closed.

With Alsop, McQuoid, Nouble, Martin and Madine, we have hit our quota

what a shambolic list. last season Leyton Orient had several loan players from the likes of Spurs and What had a great season they had. The only Prem Player our list is Akpom and he could only play once a month cos Arse youth needed him surely Pressley knew this but still took him. Clubs must think lets give that Mug at Cov a call and offload some more unwanted rubbish on them

Who sourced these?
Once he has had them he tends to move them on if no good.
Sometimes the club has been desperate to get bodies in in certain positions.
Man U and Man C have had flops costing millions.

But I agree our scouting system is shit. But SP pionted that out last season.

Just so I know which signings that he has made this season look "a lot better" not having a go I just can't figure out which ones you are referring to.

That's probably due to the Binning off of the team that Andy Thorn and then Robbins had

If we go back to Thornes one summer of activity. including those out we must be over 60 players turned over

For a football person he can't seem to identify what makes a good pro on or off the pitch. Clueless and for that reason very stack able

As a side not , mark robins is about to pull off a signing for scunthorpe united of all teams , for 200k of kevin van veen , now we may moan about money spent , but didnt we put a cash offer in for smith at swindon , go take a look at that guys record .
mark robins has a better eye for players than pressley with or without money full stop

You think this proves he's been backed? I think it strongly suggests the opposite and that he's flying on fumes. Hes said on more than one occasion he doesn't like loan signings and there is enough there to fill a matchday squad. Take into account what he's had to sell or let go and it paints a picture of a manager working in almost untenable circumstances.

Brilliant! I trust this is incorporated in his team talks.

"You've been at teams where the manager has asked you for 110%. Well this is a massive club, and so I expect massive numbers. In fact I want such a huge percentage of effort that you're going to need to write it down on a bit of paper, and then fold it up and stick it in your sock. Then you can get it out and look at it during the game, perhaps when we're defending a corner, and ask yourself if you're really giving enough. If you're not, it's the bomb squad fer ye!"

It seems to be similar approach to what happened at Charlton when Fisher & Waggott were there. The player turnover was high there too. Throw enough mud(being polite) at the wall and some will stick seems to be the strategy. Add to that SP doesn't seem to know what he is looking for and keeps changing the criteria from week to week, it is no wonder it all looks a total shambles

Charlton didn't get promoted until after TF/SW had left

We are like a woman who buys cheap jewelry. Each ring or pendant seems a bargain because it does not cost much. But pretty soon you find you have 30 broken, tarnished pieces you don't want to wear - and you could have bought something made from 14k gold for the money you have wasted.
