God I remember when we signed Sandy Robertson, he was supposed to be a very good prospect too..

We've always been unlucky in signing players from ranger. I remember years ago we nearly made a double swoop for Jorge Albert and McCann and then there was the infamous 'Nacho Nogo' saga. Finally we've signed someone from them I hope it's worth it

Oh crap, yeah, creative skillful young Scottish midfielder, crap crap crap!!!! Why did you have to mention him?!? He was in my Worst Ever City XI last week! At least we haven't signed any lanky ex-Leicester or Birmingham target men yet, nor French 'keepers or "promising" Norwegian wingers...

Colin Stein

Colin Stein was one of the finest ever Scottish centre forwards. We signed him from Rangers and he helped form an exciting forward line that included Tommy Hutchison

Good player for englnd Ipswich & Rngers - awful for us as a player 6 games, a sending off, also on his debut against liverpool guilty for their winning goal

Dougie McGuire was bloody brilliant! I remember seeing him single-handedly demolish Racing Club Warwick in a pre-season friendly. What ever happened to him?

To be fair, single-handedlly demolishing Racin Club Warwick shouldn't really classify anybody as brilliant!

True. I was getting a bit carried away there. It was the exact opposite of the time we didn't demolish Sutton Utd. But, he was brilliant. As the three other people there will testify.

Quinton Young did not join us from Rangers though. I'm fairly sure it was Ayr United. He lived further up the Holyhead Road from me, had an impressive monkey puzzle tree in his front garden and caught the number 7 bus every day! He only scored a few goals for us but one of them was at Old Trafford and gave us a rare victory there.

Colin Stein is in my top three centre-forwards to wear a Cov shirt in my time. If we could dig up one similar to him promotion would be no problem.
But we have bought some tripe from Rangers and for at the time top money. Butcher, Drinkell, Pressley, Robertson, i'm sure there's others

think I was probably one of those other three! he was impressive playing for the reserves as well. i have a feeling he got a pretty serious illness which took him out for several months and he lost pace and wasn't really the same player after that.
