Pressley being sacked is the last thing we need to happen.

One thing that needs to happen though is we need to be winning our home games.

Schmmee, I've seen City in the bottom division, as have a few others who come onto these pages. But, we played in Coventry then. And OWNED our own ground.
So, in a sense, YES, we are at the lowest point in the club's history. These are very dark times. For the club, the fans and the city of Coventry.
The rising volume of people who texted, phoned the football show and spoke to Stuart Linnell and said people have had enough - it just says it all. Another season away from the town will be the death knell. The football club simply won't survive. Despite the heroic efforts of Elvis and his regime.
The sooner the misguided souls at Sixfields boycott the games the better. A club with NO home fans would have to bring the Football League back in to intervene. It would be clear to any sane person that couldn't continue.
Supporting 'the lads' is one thing, supporting the club in the long term is another.
We are in a relegation battle. No question. Relegation to the bottom division and still at Sixfields. It's the end.

I don't get this. What exactly do you expect the Football League to do? There's no rules against having zero fans there and they cannot force CCFC to play at the Ricoh. The Ricoh is not owned by us so we would at least have to rent. The FL cannot force CCFC to rent a third party owned ground.

Sacking Pressley ! what a joke statement. The villains of our demise is two fold TIM FISHER and STEVE WAGGOTT selling player after player promising replacements, never happens, relegation should it happen would be down the those two not the manager

So TF and SW were around when we sold dublin, keano etc....

That's always a weak argument IMO, all clubs sell their best players

They could have interpreted their own rules of distance from home town and forced Sisu to come up with another plan
It may have meant Sisu giving notice at the Ricoh whilst they built a new ground.

Whether non attendance of fans at Sixfields shows the FL that their rule is broken is difficult but IMHO it does.

In addition I don't believe they have demonstrated any proof that they will build a new stadium so other rules will have been broken.

Whats to loose ?

I guess some people just like suggesting/doing things to try and save the club- including the Trust or KCIC. Whereas you just moan at anyone doing anything and go and join the do nothing, dead dogs at Sixfields to help fund Sisu [Who everyone hates (apparently)]

2 ways of looking at this. Today was a must not lose match and a clean sheet is welcome. To stop the run of losses. Thats your positive.

The negatives:

1) Not 1 shot on target.
2) Not beating the likes of Shrewsbury is a total embarrasment.
3) Northampton!
4) SISU with these cretins we are heading nowhere but down.

Pressley is still the man for the job but relegation is realistic now.

probably not but if you ran the season again from now 40 times we'd almost certainly go down in at least one of them which makes it a positive ev bet.

At what point does that become serious? Do we wait until we are in league 2? Certainly not time yet but we cannot afford to go down. That may be the point of no return for the club.

No Mark--the point of no return was 2008 when sisu took over the Club. It's been all down hill since then,
and now we are just picking up speed.

And if we bankrupt the City of Coventry, reduce the fanbase, end up playing non-league football in massive debt, playing outside of Coventry.

That's OK, because as least we got one over on the Council (that'll teach them for the potholes!).

In all seriousness, I think the essential split is one of whether you see the club as belonging to the fans, or to Sisu. If you believe it belongs to (in fact it consists of nothing but) the fans, then you can't really understand it "disappearing" so much as a massive set back to non-league. You're also likely to believe that it is the fans' right to have a say in which city the club play in. And for many that is preferable to the potential outcome from Sisu.

To many many more however, the club going pop is less likely with a vociferous fanbase putting pressure on to get the club back in Cov ASAP than by sitting back and letting them get on with....whatever it is the plan is. Some of us see only very bad things for the club if Sisu get what they want, and are coming at this from the exact same place as you in terms of fear for the club's future.

A club with access to a fanbase of over 300,000 should not be languishing in the pathetic state it finds itself. The club's owners are doing everything one would do to dismantle a club and the longer we play in Northampton the more future fans we lose as children grow up experiencing football elsewhere. That latter point is a damning indictment on all the parties who have allowed this situation to reach this stage.
