He is and always will be a club legend and he deserves our appreciation and respect.

But Lampard’s our manager now and I want us to thump Stoke today, so let’s not overdo it.

I would be delighted if Stoke finish as runners-up to us at the end of the season.

I thought that we sacked him prematurely and would happily have given him to the end of the season to turn things around but, with the benefit of hindsight, it has turned out well both for us and for him.
