I know, that's why I asked the question.

I am in total agreement with you. I'd much rather we were out of the middle east conflicts.

I would say"and leave them to it", but I don't believe that would work personally.

I think what needs to happen is a genuine effort to create a stable Kurdistan and then separate Iraq (which we just drew on a map) in to Sunni and Shia nations. Then to stop Saudi from exporting their extreme wahabi version of Islam.

But would you not say that the "eye for an eye" mentality would still be there?

I don't know the solution. All I know is, innocent people are getting slaughtered all over the world for what, exactly?

Personally, I couldn't give a shit what colour, religion, race, nationality someone is, as long as they don't try to harm me or my family, or country for that matter, and don't enforce their ideas on my life.

Edit: Just to clarify, I find other cultures and lifestyles fascinating and wouldn't enforce my lifestyle/ideas on them either.

Never mind. Remember whoever did this is a freedom fighter. One day they will be able to shake hands with the Queen and be held in high regard by the establishment. Oh and they will never ever have to offer any sign of redemption or apology in order to get that.

No. That won't happen. He is not fighting for freedom. Best case, he is fighting for submission.

So you think the Iraq war shouldn't be criticized as an example? To criticize British mistakes and hope that they aren't repeated is hardly anti British.

They already are and Erdogan is suggesting there will be more to come in Europe. If ISIS is smashed in the ME, then they are going to concentrate on us. The most powerful man in the western world is a total idiot who knows fuck all about politics- so things can only get worse.

Where did I glorify McGuinness? Oh I see, my Irish background - I must therefore support IRA. You ignorant c**t. He had blood on his hands and knew he couldn't win with guns; the same with the UK Govt , hence the peace process.

Anyway, show some respect for those who died today. I will to the Police on the gates at Parliament when I walk past on the way to the office when I am in London again on Friday.

With respect I never actually questioned anything about you - it was you who attacked my comment in an ignorant manner.

I'm also of Irish descent do what has that to do with anything?

Very worrying that no where seems safe in the world from these terrorist attacks

Credit to the Police reactions, but also the MP fella who fought to try and save the policeman who was stabbed.

Just watching ITV news coverage. People were complaining during the pre recorded bits from earlier today about streets nearby the incident being taped off and closed!

Rediculous really especially when it would have been immediately clear with social media, police presence etc what was going on and why it wasn't taped off!

Muslim Council of Britain (MCB)
Westminster Attack

22 March 2017

We are shocked and saddened by the incident at Westminster. We condemn this attack and while it is still too early to speculate on the motives, our thoughts and prayers are for the victims and those affected. We pay tribute too to the police and emergency services who handled this with bravery. The Palace of Westminster is the centre of our democracy and we must all ensure that it continues to serve our country and its people with safety and security.

It's amazing isn't it. A large majority of Muslims live in Britain and integrate, live their lives, and get on with people.

A small minority want to ruin it for everyone, regardless of if they're muslim or not.

No. And what does that have to do with the BBC?

I'm basing it on the less than impartial agenda that was shoved upon us pre the last election and brexit vote.

They also go out of their way to ensure that all minorities are represented (un)fairly in any drama or documentary now aired for fear of reprisals never showing them to be the bad guys in anything. An odd agenda that I believe causes more division than unity despite intentions to promote the polar opposite.

Misguided and misleading reassurance if you ask me. An 'unconscious reassurance' is not what you need when it comes to countering terrorism; you need overt intimidation and overwhelming force.

I'd agree with this. Always feel safe when you see armed police in the tube stations in London.

Don't do anything wrong, you won't get shot. Simples.

Breaks my heart stuff like this. Those people should be home now and sleeping with their loved ones. It's absolutely tragic and I'm past the point it makes me mad now. I just get really depressed more as it seems almost inevitable so unfortunately I'm not surprised.

The fact it was in London makes it feel a lot more real to me about terror isis threats. It could easily of been anyone taking there even from this forum. Take care everyone against these murderers.

SCUM!

I have no doubt that when the time comes the people will rise up and protect this great country like they have done before.

It may well be sometime away. But when people are dying every day, when every family knows pain, when no city, town or village is safe people will take action.

There is a disconnect at the moment. There are many people who see London as a different world. It isn't happening to them.

Remember there was a great deal of opposition to WW2 until bombs started raining on people's houses throughout the country

It will become increasingly worse over the years until the normal law abiding people who don't want to revert back to medieval times say enough

Oh come off it please.

In recent posts I notice that you’ve throw around insults such as racist, homophobe, scumbag to anyone who has a different opinion to yours.

You’d run a mile rather than dare insult anyone face to face in that manner, so don’t imagine for a second it makes you sound hard. It’s immature.

I must admit I was disgusted that within a few hours of the maiming and murdering of innocents, the theme of your posts were ‘you reap what you sow’ and I make no apology for that.

I’m no racist, I’m an Englishman who’s proud of this country, just like most of the other posters on here who you regularly insult.

I’m extremely proud that this great country is one of the least racist, most tolerant nations on earth and rather than immediately jump to relate yesterday’s attack on innocent civilians to the UK’s foreign policy as you did, I prefer to view it as an evil, cowardly act by an individual who has used and abused the values freedom and tolerance to commit mass murder.

My heart goes out to all the victims.

The guy and his family from Brazil would take issue with that. I felt very uncomfortable in central London 2 weeks ago with armed police walking around st James park

Obviously not saying he deserved to be shot, but he ran from the police and jumped a barrier.

If he had just stopped and spoke to the police he would still be alive now.

its too complicated an issue to rise up.

west kill innocents in drone strikes every day
jihadi terrorists kill innocents over here

until majority understand this and stop playing the good guys vs bad guys card i cant see much changing.*

*not that i am saying terrorists are not bad guys, they are scum. i meant on a larger scale of nations.

This fellow was almost certainly British. So what has a drone strike in the Middle East got to do with him?

And if drone strikes do bother him, he has a vote like the rest of us.

Killing people because you oppose government policy is never acceptable in a democracy regardless of the circumstances.
