And what he was just someone who was mentally ill and not a terrorist?

His lawyer said that but hasn't said he spoke to him today to confirm he is incarcerated. Situation now uncertain.
Nevertheless some yrs ago this Adu/Trevor guy abused Home Secretary John Reid and told him to 'get out of muslim area' so alive or dead he is a c**t anyway.

PS Just saw vid on twitter popping up claiming abu whotsit, removed for youtube before I could look.

Try telling that to the victims of the Birmingham pub bombmings who see the Commander in chief who orchestrated those murders now being regarding as some kind of Mother Theresa figure.

Not very nice is it?

You mean like the families of 4 million Indians forcibly starved to death having to bear with England's morbid adulation of Churchill.

People in this country need to have more perspective as to the consequences of our actions internationally.

If an armed policeman can be killed by an assailant with a knife, something is wrong with the security at the Houses of Parliament.
And if he wasn't armed, what was he doing there?
They do understand that terrorists are armed to the teeth and usually wearing bullet-proof vests right?

Otis, mentally ill or not, do you let someone with a knife stab you or try to disarm them by any means.
I have been faced by someone with a knife and when it happened the last thing I was thinking was if they had mental health issues or not.

The Tories want Police in this country to police by consent. The friendly bobby on the street corner unarmed facing nutters with knives and guns. They are coming out with all their fake platitudes now but in reality they do nothing at all to back our law enforcement.

I know, the average hard working families in England deserve everything they get, even if they didn't exist when these things happened, make them pay!

Is there a reason why the majority of police here aren't armed whereas most other countries in Europe are?

Shall we talk about the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians killed in the middle east instead then?

The Tories want Police in this country to Police by consent. They don't give a fuck that they are in harms way with a small bottle of pepper spray and an asp, as long as the Tories still live in the 50's and think the world is like Dixon of Dock Green. The so called party of law and order have done nothing but undermine and under resource law enforcement in this country.

Our police have always policed by consent, it was one of the founding principles of the service, nothing to do with politics and quite unique to the UK.

I know but life has moved on since the Peelers were formed.

We have low numbers and low firearms officers and have only avoided many serious attacks in the country due to the dedication and hard work of the Police and the intelligence agencies.

The Met have been asking for routine arming for a number of years, at least at ground level, but the bosses don't want it nor the Politicians so don't tell me it isn't political.

I agree, the principal should not be used to undermine officers, I am in favour of more specialist military involvement to deal with this kind of stuff.

Where did I glorify McGuinness? Oh I see, my Irish background - I must therefore support IRA. You ignorant c**t. He had blood on his hands and knew he couldn't win with guns; the same with the UK Govt , hence the peace process.

Anyway, show some respect for those who died today. I will to the Police on the gates at Parliament when I walk past on the way to the office when I am in London again on Friday.

Policing...that doesn't necessarily mean guarding. The armed police in the vicinity appear to be few but can quickly assemble into a fighting unit.
That's cold comfort to the murdered Officer's family - but unarmed (if he was) policing in such a location can serve as an unconscious reassurance to the general public

None, that being the point. The reaction to this will be pressure to attack countries and kill more people, the reaction to that being more attacks on the west. At some point we're going to have to stop killing and radicalising and sort out a proper grown up solution. Bombing and killing people who were in no way responsible for those poor people killed today is not an answer.

No - a small minority of them interpret it to mean inflicting bad things on anyone & everyone. So it is their interpretation which is wrong

I know, that's why I asked the question.

I am in total agreement with you. I'd much rather we were out of the middle east conflicts.

I would say"and leave them to it", but I don't believe that would work personally.
