Kids having their time on the pitch.

What's wrong with that? Go get yourself a pie or a pint if you don't want to watch.

Every time me, my dad and my kids (all season ticket holders) go up, all we are surrounded by is grumpy old men moaning about everything.

Stay at home, you're not needed and your whining pisses us off.

I don't remember having all that applause after I survived my 3rd heart attack! I think it's all a bit OTT at times.
Allow the teams he was involved with to do the clapping etc, and our club can show support by sending him messages of goodwill, but it really is cringeworthy stuff to stand there slapping your palms together every time something happens to someone.
And why applause? I applaud clever tricks or a good act at the theatre. :thinking about:

Currently on late kick off about a young lad from Walsall who died of the same five years ago - a minutes of applause then for a local lad? Nah of course not because the hyped up media have everyone believeing that if it didn't happen in the premiership then it doesn't mater.

Honestly can't believe people are moaning about giving a minutes applause to a young man who almost lost his life playing the sport we all love to watch.

Imagine if it had have been one of our players...it would have meant the world to the clubs fans and the lads family to see clubs around the country/world showing their support and respect to the lad.

Muamba has links/friends throughout many clubs up and down the country. It wouldn't surprise me if one or two of the lads that suited up for us and Pompey on Saturday know him. Maybe they have played on the same team or against him.

For that one minute we as football fans showed our appreciation for a man that almost died playing football. The fact that some are saying we shouldn't have done it is just ridiculous. I'm a grown man and was nearly in tears watching everything unfold on the TV. The player, the clubs doctors and all medical staff involved in bringing him back to life and keeping him alive fully deserved that minutes applause.

Its a difficult one and i've given my initial view in the thread.Certainly don't want to come over as crass or ambivolant and you've raised good awareness of the efforts to save Fabrice,in reality he was extremely lucky that what occured ,took place when and where it did .He recieved exceptional care and treatment and survived ,in other walks of life and as Rob has alluded to the boy from Walsall ,they are less fortunate as the facilities are not readily available .A tribute for and collection for emergancy services and equiptment could have been more fitting and beneficial .I really am genuinely euphoric that a life was'nt lost but the tribute was not fitting ,From experience i can only associate it with death,i've no doubt it was a poingnant moment for Terry Yorath who's son died at the age of Fifteen from a condition such as this playing football in the back garden.

Aside from the initial cost of buying the shirt, whose time and effort is being wasted? They're getting kids involved, which is surely worthwhile if they end up enjoying the day and want to come back.

We didn't even pay for that shirt. It was the one pre-ordered for Jon Parkin when he came for the medical.
