Let's be honest, there will be a certain element that won't be bothered about that.

Why would you even consider that? That company might have employees and families that are dependent. Condemn the man by all means, but no need for that. Of course, I am aware that you didn't post it so fine, but odd this has even been raised tbh.

He's a 21 year old director of a drainage business. I don't get the impression he's Richard Branson.

So what? Even if he has 3 employees (which the company does according to CH having just checked), why would you bring those people into it? If I was punished every time I'd worked for a boss who was a twat, I'd be even more fucked than I am now.

Just so we're clear .... you're really criticising someone looking up his business whilst looking up in detail at his business for an Internet argument. Seek help immediately!

Edit: this is the guy btw who brought his racist views to Kasey's place of work, affecting a few more than three people, but you go on looking out for him

Who gives a shit, fingers crossed everyone boycotts them. Businesses with far more employees than them have been boycotted before. Hope he falls into a gutter.

He probably feels sorry for Sun journalists or traffic wardens.

Tbh I wouldn't want to work for him and make his drainage business money anyway. I doubt it's skilled labour, but if it is there's plenty of others happy to take you on, if it's minimum wage then flip burgers at McDonald's instead. Loads of low paying jobs out there if people want them, even in Sheffield.

This is a good outcome. Fines and/or lengthy bans make good deterrents IMO. People calling for prison sentences are off their rocker though. Let the clubs deal with these sorts of offences.

I had no intention of looking up his business until it was being discussed how many employees he might have so I did a quick 30 second check. The criticism btw was the suggestion that people should go after his business to take it down. That's weird behaviour.

The guy fucked up. Complete arsehole. He has been publicly shamed and has been banned. You want more, you want to see him destroyed, regardless of the collateral damage to people around him? Put the pitchfork away.

Although I appreciate your point re going after his business I don’t think you can say ‘he fucked up’.

He stood in the stands and made monkey gestures to a person of colour. That isn’t a silly mistake that is pure ingrained racism and perhaps non-football fans should be aware of this prior to choosing to do business with him and his company?

Well that term is hardly the sum total of my thoughts on what he did, I didn't feel I needed to expand on that. I'm perfectly fine with those who might argue that the punishment he received personally wasn't sufficient. I am commenting on this odd modern day phenomenon where people want to go after the livelihoods of people, specifically of people deemed guilty by association. I see this all the time from culture warriors from both sides, and they have all seemingly convinced themselves they are the good guys.

A racist has been exposed, shamed, and punished. Totally fine with people who say the punishment should have been greater. Also fine with people who don't believe people can change, improve, grow and learn. I'm not entirely convinced about that, but I am sure there are people not capable of that, so fine. Not sure what I am saying here that is not measured and reasonable.

Claiming to know the precise details of Kasey Palmer's contract is one thing, but acting like you know the inner workings and management structure of a small drainage company in Sheffield might be a step too far.

There are 3 “employees” - 2 are him and his father. He was made a director at 18.

It’s set up so dividends are paid for tax advantages and share capital.

Plenty of parents make children directors for that purpose who are given fancy titles but in reality are utterly useless and a perpetual embarrassment.

Im sure some posters on here can relate to that - one way or another.

21 year old male does something incredibly stupid and gets a 5 year stadium ban and some community work which is good news , I don't think it's a crime that should be punished for life and I think he's being punished appropriately.

Not sure why people feel the urge to go further on the matter , bit weird tbh .

A lifetime ban from a football stadium isn’t exactly a draconian punishment imo.

Not often that I’m the one arguing for more hardline punishments, but maybe others just don’t think it’s as serious a problem. As it is, this guy will be back in the stands as if nothing ever happened in five years, and that’s assuming he doesn’t just rock up incognito as many people under banning orders are known to do.

We don't know he'll rock up as if nothing happened.
He may be a totally different person in 5 years time,
He may be even more of a dick, time will tell.

Well my opinions are generally very much along the lines that people can rehabilitate.
I just think k the pu ishment is right, and if he tries to attend during his ban or if he plays up on his return then a lifetime ban would be appropriate

Well you previously said you would have no issue with rehabilitated sex offenders living next to you so perhaps look in the mirror for your own perspective.

I don’t see the contradiction here - I also think Edward Rabjohn has the right to live where he wants, however horrible a bloke he clearly is. Whereas the right to attend a football match at a particular stadium isn’t exactly a huge imposition on his rights, and will make our sport a better place by his absence.

I assume a child sex offender should be banned for life from being anywhere near children ever again? Including living in the same street as any?

Nah. No matter how drunk I would be at a football match or anywhere for that matter, I wouldn't be racist, because I'm not a racist.

Being drunk is an excuse. Chances are he'll be (or had been) racist when sober. It's in him.
