No wins at home in November? Does beating Norwich 2.0 not count then.

I do apologise. You're correct. They beat Norwich at home 2-0 three days after losing at home 2-6 to Watford.

I was also wrong when I said they won at home once in October. They didn't win any games at home in October.

I don’t think this will be easy. We are away to a team lying two places above us in the table.

I predict 1-1. I’m probably reasonably happy with that although, of course, I want us to win.

What odds would you have got for Plymouth to beat Liverpool and then smash Millwall 5-1

Only a crazy person would put money on that!

I was quite happy with the result because Millwall’s GD was the same as our going into the game.

2-0 given the injuries they seem to have

Given the nature of the forum, I think the facility to add a sarc tag to posts would be very useful and save a lot of misunderstanding

I watched some of their game against Swansea. Nothing special and they played a horrendous Swansea side. But they have home advantage and will see our game as a big big game for them to pull away from us in the play off hunt. We really need to be at our best.

Correct for once. Although they did beat us 2.1 in October.

70pts really means we need 12 from this block of 5 (9 from the next four), 7 from the block of Derby, 3 of the Top 4, Portsmouth, 12 from the last five.

Thats why I think we can only afford to not win one of the next four.

Their win last night has turned this one into a big game. Not so much "must win" but "dont lose".

You'd have to think our form and their injuries gives us a good chance but it sounds like Hillsborough will be pretty full and the atmosphere could be a leveller.

We heard all this the season we made the play offs.
We'd fucked it when we lost to Stoke, when we drew with Wigan etc.
But we still got to the final.

We're in a good position and in good form but there will be blips. And in all liklihood all the teams around us will have blips as well.

I can't see anyone steam rolling through their remaining fixtures without a few shock adverse results.

Silly Season for playoff meltdowns is in the air! As @Evo1883 said the other day, it feels like we’re all just starting to look at every goal, in every other game and think of permutations of results.
I think you’re right, we will have blips…hopefully we have a load right away so I don’t have to go through the agony of a thrilling end of season again!!
It’s the hope that kills!

You're trying your best to 'big' them up. Bit it's quite simple. They're not very good at home. Yes they won at our place in October. We lost to poor sides in the 1st half of the season. Maybe it's something to do with their supporters getting on their backs instead of backing them. They couldn't even beat Luton at home at the start of this month.

I'm not expecting a win. But I'm also not expecting a defeat. I just feel we will have too much for them.

Bannan is one of those players whoever he has played for has always played exceptionally well against us. With him out I fancy us to sneak it

Changed the game in the cup match, once he came on we looked second best and had been reasonably comfortable until then.

I'm wary about almost every away game in this division, i don't think any of them are easy and most the time an away point is a welcome one. That said, i have a feeling we might nick this.

Starting such a crucial away game with anything other than 3 at the back would be mental.

Four clean sheets in six. You can't keep relying on Dovin to get us out of the shit. I think you guys decide your perfect midfield and attack and then realize you only have four players left and just assume that will do. Start from the back.

On Tuesday we narrowly beat a good mid table team that had been playing well. We face a similar battle on Saturday.

So stick with the winning formula of 3-4-3 or 5-3-2 - they are pretty much the same, particularly if Bidwell is still not quite fit.

As has been suggested by others, maybe make midfield a bit grittier by replacing Torp with either Eccles or Allen. Allen is better at the relentless chasing down thing.

This means for the first time in recorded history my team voluntarily includes BOTH Allen and Da Silva. Nurse!!

and from where I was sitting, part of the reason we struggled at times was that we were outnumbered in midfield and had too many defenders, leaving MVE and Thomas in particular not clear on who should do what in the first half (see MVE letting someone run 30 years unopposed several times). I don't think 3 x CBs solves any more issues than it creates with this squad.

How about mentioning how well the GK's have done against us. The QPR GK kept them in the game.

We're going to have shots against us. That's the nature of the game. I trust Lampard to put out the best side possible depending on who we are playing and who we have fit.
