Not had mine yet either, paid last Wednesday, odd as they've been a lot better at getting them out quickly this season.

Anyone else remember being there in the night game in 84 in the FA cup when we lost 3-2
South Yorkshire police corralled us in that passageway under the Leppings Lane stand . One of the few times I’ve been really worried at football and that was when travelling away came with its own weekly skirmishes. We had only brought about 1500 at most that night , but the police seemed to squeeze almost all of us into that tunnel after the game.
Never experienced a crush like it . That was clearly a common tactic back then.
Apart from that incident , Hillsborough has nearly always been a pretty happy hunting ground for us . But the feeling of being crushed that day, I’ll never forget

I was there that night but don’t remember the crush you mention. What i do remember though is that the referee was Keith Hackett (from Sheffield) and that nearly every decision he made went against us.

If anyone is driving, found Hillsborough a nightmare to park around last season, I luckily stumbled across an empty gap on the kerb just off the main road but that was a stroke of luck

When we went back the week after for the cup we parked at Meadowhall just off the M1 for free and got a return tram ticket to Hillsborough - Will take you about 30 mins on the tram but you would just be getting straight onto the M1 from there and hopefully a clear run

Your other option is the dog track / casino car park towards the city. About 15 mins walk from the ground.

I'm training it this year, staying over the night and sampling West Street after the game

I always pre-book Sainsbury's. 10 min walk to the ground and straight out after. £5.50 but probably sold out now.

Bartley sent off today (banned) - West Brom player, as pointed out below!!

Not been here for a few years, has anyone else parked at the barracks behind morrisons? Few people saying its free to park but i'd be surprised if true.

Was looking at Casino opposite KFC but imagine its a mare to get out after.

Thinking of doing the same for ease of getting back onto M1 and not having to drive through city.. how easy was the tram and how much was it?

An adult day ticket for unlimited journeys on the SuperTram is £5.70. You can pay the conductor on board using contactless. All trams from Meadowhall Interchange go to Hillsborough (this is the Yellow Route). They run every 15 minutes.
Break your journey at Shalesmoor and walk into Kelham Island if you want to get a drink in a good pub - try the Fat Cat or the Kelham Island Tavern for iconic Sheffield pubs with real ale; SALT for craft beer; or Bar Kelham or The Ship for a friendly bar/pub showing the lunchtime matches.

Best place for x5 mid-20 year old lads after the game into the evening? We are making an overnight trip of it - I have been told West St but some local knowledge wouldn't go amiss either if you have any other suggestions

Yeah, we usually park in a little Asda car park, about 5 mins from the ground. In a B&Q on Saturday. A fiver.

Yep, agreed. West St / Division St is quite student orientated. The Cambridge Street Collective is a fantastic place for a wide range of street food and a drink, and a good, lively atmosphere. Kelham Island / Neepsend is more indie, less student-orientated and fun. Chop Shop is great if you are a carnivore, Hymn to Ninkasi is a really interesting place for an alternative beer. Go over the river to Neepsend for some interesting bars too. The walk from the city centre to Kelham Island is 20 mins,, or you can take the tram to Shalesmoor, so you can try both in a single night out.
I live in Kelham Island, so am a bit biased, but my 20 year old daughter prefers West Street.

Plenty for everyone. The City has developed beyond measure in the last 10 years . We live on the outskirts so don't go into the centre as much nowadays.

Thinking of parking at Meadowhall and getting the yellow route tram to Leppings Lane. What's it like after the match, do they put extra trams on or will it be a long wait to get one?
