Why are we blaming Dovin for getting fouled?

It’s generally an away problem. Until the squad of players we have can address that, we’re doing nothing. 6 wins from 20 isn’t good enough. Nobody goes up by being a bit more confident at home.

Away midweek to be precise. Something about the routine isn’t right. Players don’t look ready at all.

Also. Lampard last night moments away from telling Clive to shut up and move on - first 3 questions were him prying into what’s wrong with Dovin. Lampard’s first answer was clear enough, nope, he keeps digging.

The soap opera stuff about Hamer being a turncoat/Vik being an honourable gent/O’Hare being a traitor is just embarrassing at this point. They all left for the biggest pay check at the first available opportunity. Hamer and Vik generated huge profits in the process, and but for injury so would have COH.

They all played brilliantly for us, and Hamer in particular seems to have a genuine affection for the club (he’s attended more home games than many on here). Personally I think that’s worth a smattering of applause. Pantomime booing is also fine if you’re into that. But fans making up their own little rules about when and where you’re allowed to acknowledge former players - as if it has any impact on the games themselves at all - is just odd.

I agree, but that is a lot of football fans for you. Checkout Liverpool fans this week
Fans this think they are entitled to own good players and players should do what is best for the fans club. Yet when fans talk about loyalty their ethics don't stretch to crap players or even young players still developing (one of their own or not).

Where were the passion, desire and energy from the Sunderland game? That was the standard we needed to get to, and the level last night was way below that. We were so passive in attack and although we had good possession, it was all in front of them and sooooo slow in the build up.
It looked like we were scared to get at them and make them work for the win. Campbell v Dovin was amateur v professional thug and only one outcome, but why didn’t he clear the ball and why didn’t Campbell get booked?
If that’s two weeks prep for a game, how did we spend it? on the beach or clubbing it looked like. They were sharper than us in the area that counts, but didn’t expect us to win. Draw next week gives us 4 points from these 3 difficult games, about what we expected.

you say this and yet WBA drew twice with both Sheff Utd and Burnley, and Sunderland have beaten Sheff Utd once this year, and taken 4 points from 6 against Burnley, so not sure why our result makes you think neither have a chance

I also still think we’ll take something from Burnley

We need to look at our tactics against the top 3. We allow then to be the best version of themselves

Our high line has really played into the hands of both Leeds & Sheff U who both could’ve scored 5. We don’t have the personnel to execute it defensively against top sides

Collins was our keeper for the 3-month period last season when we were the 4th best team in the league where he looked assured.

It is clear that he is a massive confidence player and if it goes we’re going to struggle.

Fans digging him out, groaning, and shouting abuse is only going to make him worse. We need to take some agency and try to lift the guy rather than sink him (and potentially our play off hopes)

Spot on. He’s likely our No 1 for the rest of the season so let’s get behind him.

In terms of team performance it was disappointing but guessing Kitching was a late drop out so messed up plans, wouldn’t be surprised if that meant dasilva was taken out as Bidwell might be able to protect Binks better. Didn’t work but maybe this was the case. That’s a major rejig on recent form.

Thought we played well at the start of the second half without any real cutting edge. With hindsight simms down the middle and wright on the left would’ve maybe been better but wasn’t going to happen after Wright hattrick

Unfortunately we have a fanbase where half think we’re the best in the league after Sunderland so unrealistically get their hopes up, so now we’re shit after losing last night (against the other form team in the league and budget way above ours). We’ve been on a great run and lucky to be in the play off mix after the start we had, so let’s move on and just enjoy it !

The clapping for Hamer when he scored that goal was also pathetic, should follow him and start supporting Sheffield United. He strung us along all summer and left us on deadline day with no time to replace him, much worse than o hare.

Yes it was terrible how he refused to leave until a Premier League team tried to sign him for £15 million, totally screwed us.

I just can't go along with the 'we were shit' line. We weren't, we played fine moved the ball well into wide positions, where the end product was uncharacteristically lacking from EMC and Sakamoto. They were all good strikes, teams like that will create the odd chance, just they buried them all last night and the game was over quickly. That's the level and a learning curve, we're improving and hopefully we'll get to see that level of ruthlessness one day. PUSB onwards and upwards, genuinely enjoyed the game despite the result.

Absolute myth that people were clapping Hamers goal by the way, I only saw people giving him the wanker sign! He's a great player whose spoke well about us and acknowledged the support at the end, only a neanderthal would want us to boo a bloke doing that! The O'Hare booing was quite funny in contrast to Hamers reception to be fair, but there really is no logic behind it, seems sound enough and made a smart move after doing well for us. He looked a bit upset by it but oh well. Glad all that craps out the way now

You think the club genuinely believed Hamer wanted to stay even if a PL club came in and offered £15 million?

Let's be honest our last 2 away performances have been shit .

The team for some reason have looked lethargic, tired and lacking ideas in both and have made it too easy for the opposition to win both matches.

Not sure why that is but that needs to not become a habit

Wilder is a master of the dark arts and has the ref in his pocket.

the amount of kicking the ball away and the distracting the ref, surrounding the ref for any foul to try and get bookings.

leaving one on a player late

Ugly side of the game yet the ref feel for it every time

Watching on TV, I thought we controlled the game in many ways, but they were far more incisive in the final third and they had Hamer’s quality to score that peach of a free kick and give them the lead. Bobby Thomas shouldn’t have committed the foul knowing what Hamer can do from there. Milan was nearby and they still have to get the ball in the net. Let him go if he has beaten you and take your chances. I’m not too downhearted. The relegated teams are almost in a different mini league this season. We need to prepare well for the Portsmouth and Hull games and get good results in those to solidify our place in the top six. Be great to beat Burnley, or get a point, and maybe home support can make the difference. The West Brom game could be huge. Hopefully sell out and really get behind them for that one.

He will be supported - but it’s completely fair to suggest that we probably aren’t going to be promoted with a goalkeeper of his calibre playing

I genuinely couldn’t tell you three occasions where he has had an impressive game
