I actually agree with leaving out Saka for Esse.
He has been brutalised in so many matches. Refs offer him no protection & he won't get any at Bramall Lane. Pound for pound he is as hard as any one of our team. He won't back away from anything.

He needs protecting tomorrow.
Give him the last 25 mins if necessary.
Then let him weave around Stoke.

He could do with protecting Wednesday as well

Jon Busby as the ref with these dirty fuckers is not a great combination on face value. I hope he is ready to sort them out if (when) they start being pricks.

As for us, we need to make sure we don't get intimidated and start playing like pussies again. Win this and it is a huge step closer.

I wouldnt swap Tats for Esse in this one. Tats is a worker and will be needed to help nulify Hamer.

For once I could be tempted by a switch to 5 at the back

After watching them on Sunday would be tempted to put three at the back to try and nullify their threat on transactions.

However on the flip side, we’ve just won two on the bounce playing our way. As such, maybe we carry on as we are and be confident we can assert ourselves on them.

Either-way should be a good game

Surely if a team as apparently brilliant as the Blunts is so low down then that's proof the league is pretty decent. There's no one team on course for 100 points which seems to be what simpletons mean when they say this but, Sheffield Wednesday aside, it is a very competitive division.

I've always thought this too.

Everyone says "Oh it's a poor championship this year, because there's no team whalloping everyone like Leeds and Burnley..."

Bullshit.
Sheff Wed are obviously far inferior to anything in it last year, but lots of the middle sides are packed together primarily because the quality of most of the sides has improved. That's the main reason why there's no side absolutely mullering the whole division.

As the most obvious examples Hull, Millwall, Derby & Preston are better than last year, but which 3 would you say are stronger, between Luton, Plymouth & Cardiff from last year, or Brum, Wrexham & Charlton from this?

This is a game that makes me nervous. I felt confident against WBA but less so here. They have good players, similar level to us and they're on a good run. I think a draw would actually be a decent result even if it means Ipswich making ground. I can envisage a game where SU have a lot of the possession again and we sit back defend deep hoping for the break. I would be tempted to get BTA back into the starting 11, maybe in place of EMC. He will work them hard and will be keen to get back onthe scoresheet. Definitely leave Saka in though, his form is good and he works very hard to win the ball back.

I think a draw here and a win on Saturday would represent a good week.

I'm not having BTA in for EMC.
No way. Personally I think there is a gulf in class between the two.

Yea who wants someone who is in double figures for goals this season. We have a 3 game week and EMC cant play 3 full games.

EMC is still incredibly underrated by many on this forum. I think he's one of Lampards faves personally and rightly so.

To be clear, I love Mason-Clark, I rate him highly. I just want to get BTA a start soon and I think it's harder to drop Rudoni or Sakamoto at the moment. Maybe he should come in for Wright? Lampard won't drop Wright though.

Those goals were sometime ago. In his cameos since return from injury he has barely controlled the ball. Can't fault his energy. Good sub at mo, not ready to start.

Elsewhere, Ephron Mason-Clark had to go off after a heavy challenge 12 minutes from time and Haji Wright suffered a cut and was also withdrawn at The Hawthorns with just under 20 minutes remaining of the 2-0 win.

could have to be changes then?

Most memorable trip to Bramall Lane was a Friday night in MRs first spell, a few weeks before he left iirc

Leon Clarke last minute winner, it went down like a complete sack of spuds and their fans got real nasty, as a 12yr old at the time it was one of a very few times I was clenching my dads hand coming out of a football ground

We played them a few days after Wembley in the Checkatrade - There could not have been any more than 200 City there, we were already down and they beat us 2-0 to pretty much cement themselves as promoted and even in a moment of celebration they were still funny with us who had turned up owing to what happened in the home game that season

One of those clubs that in my lifetime have always seemed to have an XL sized chip on their shoulder when it comes to us

Astounds me we had so many fans moaning about squad depth. Now we get some they moaan that we might actually want to rotate the squad a bit......

I have this down as a loss on my predictions so be over soon with a draw

Boro and Ipswich are still close to us. Hopefully at least one of them drops PTS on Tuesday.

No chance on Grimes or MVE being rested.

Would also think if we did go back three, it would be in a 5-2-3/3-4-3

We are better than them in just about every way. Where they are strong is bullying their opponents but we're not exactly weak at it ourselves. They do have Hamer who is class, but maybe Onyeka will keep an eye on him.
