Discuss the Shef Utd game.
would be happy with a point against a team who look the have turned a corner and making a late push for the playoffs.
Would love to beat these though as both a manager and fan base I cant stand.
their fans are some of the most arrogant Ive met not to mention their antics against us over the years.
Ohare is having a good season and their stand out player this season and we all know how Hamer can pop up with a worldy performance.
For those going can we please leave the clapping of Hamer until after the match and give both him and Ohare some shit during the game with chants of “It could have been you”
Hoping for a Shef Wed win today and an injury or two with red card for Hamer

An example of the arrogance of their fans.

“It frustrates the hell out of me seeing these rubbish teams in the playoffs. I accept getting beaten by better teams, but this season is all self inflicted.
We really need to get our shit together”

“I don’t think Middlesbrough and Coventry are that great either, this has to be one of the worst Championships in recent years”

“Last season’s team would have walked this league if played from start to finish
Though we probably have a strong finish in us”

On the last point, there's very little chance of a Wednesday win today. Anything can happen of course, but they have won 1 game all season and that win was back in September.

‘One of the worst Championships in years’ that they’ve completely ballsed up.

We shouldn’t be singing that to Hamer. He left us and went to play in the EPL.

I don't get what comments like that are really trying to prove.
So what if 'last seasons team would have walked this league'.

It's irrelevant. What a bellend.

Would certainly take a point, though it’s worth noting that Wilder himself doesn’t share the arrogance of the fanbase and there’s clearly mutual respect between him and FL.

They’ll have their tails up and it’ll be a bit too much I think. 2-1 loss

Surely if a team as apparently brilliant as the Blunts is so low down then that's proof the league is pretty decent. There's no one team on course for 100 points which seems to be what simpletons mean when they say this but, Sheffield Wednesday aside, it is a very competitive division.

They should be playing last seasons team instead then if that would have guaranteed them autos.

I've never really understood these arguments about how competitive a division is from one year to the next.
And to be honest, even if this year isnt as competitive, I really don't care if we get the autos.

Take point all day. Set up like WBA be compact, trust the firepower.

changes - Bta for EmC - just fresh legs / maybe Eccles / torp for Rudoni - again just trying to get some freshness in

SW will be relegated if they lose but it’s inevitable at some point - but it’s a Derby and they won’t need much to motivate them just for the locals - hope they can create some mayhem with a litany of cards and a sending off

I wouldn't be surprised by any of the possible three results for this one.

A win would bring the biggest possible smile to my face but I would be reasonably content with a draw. The Blades are in good form after a terrible start to the season and we are away from home.

If we can continue with the recent improvements that we have seen then I can see us pinching it 1-0 or 2-1.

PUSB!

At risk of going slightly off topic and on a tangent, leaving aside City due to my own bias, Middlesbrough are a good side, maybe a striker away from being a very good side.

Sheffield Utd on the other hand play shit football and every time they go up stink the Premier League out. Actually why I almost "like" Sunderland going up and giving the Premier League a bloody nose, rather than the Blunts and Burnley going up, playing shit football and coming back down with a whimper.

As for the game, a draw would be nice, a win would be monumental and a defeat not disastrous. Whilst I don't believe in free hits, I will say it's going to be a lot less stressful than the last two, that's for sure.

Definitely take a point here - and think we will be lucky to if we do. This one of those games where if they’re at the top of theirs and were remotely off ours then struggle to see us taking away anything.

Obviously if it’s the other way round then I can see a good win too. So - who the fuck knows

Also if theyre not careful and the stars align, theres potential for them to be in a division with 5 parachute teams next season. Then theyd have something to cry about.

Am a bit worried that Saka may be very battered and bruised. He's really been targeted lately.

Would take a point gladly now with how yesterday’s results transpired and if The Unwashed and Watford can do us a favour the night before then even better

Sheff U fans seem to be making a major fuss of sending Wednesday down today, fingers crossed they channel all their energy and use up all their goals in that and get a bit complacent for our game

Funny old game this. 10 days ago I’d have this down as a defeat but after 2 great wins, I’m confident we have do these. We have to keep agent Gus quiet from worldies and we can do these

There are three ex city players in their squad, plus Bamford. However, Mccallum is injured. On the one hand, they will be up for it. But they lost at home to Boro only a few weeks ago. Are we saying that Boro are better than us? The table doesn't think so. They just replicated our result at home to Oxford but I think they were lucky not to lose.

I see no reason why we don't win this. And I'm not frightened of Saints at home either, which many are predicting as a loss. We are back; and improved with Frank the enforcer.

Just as they lose their own parachute payments, they could be with 4/5 (6 if the festa avoid relegation and Ipswich dont go up) parachute teams and 1 of or both the Hollywood big spenders. Which just solidifies how important it is we go up this season. Let's pile a little more misery on the wankers and beat them on Wednesday night!

I know he’s a cult hero but I hope Onyeka absolutely nails Hamer early.

I’d have loved him back in January for the record, no questions over his ability. But it seems he wasn’t interested again for all his ‘love of Cov’, and all the faux affinity stuff is cringe (as is saying cringe tbf).

Still don’t get why him and COH aren’t treated the same tbh. Boo, ignore or give a positive acknowledgement to both.

Could be a very interesting battle in midfield between Onyeka and Grimes and Hamer amd phillips

“ Hamer just played a great pass into Bamford in the Sheffield derby

I would just like to reiterate how much I hate Sheffield United as a club , fanbase and the spud faced fucker that manages them

I'd have thought it was obvious. We decided to sell Gus. Whereas we paid Cal for months through a serious injury, and once recovered he refused to sign a new contract and left on a free. I'm not going to condemn him but plenty will and he brought it on himself.

A draw would be an acceptable result if we had to take it but I think we're more than capable of going there for the win, especially now we have Onyeka. We have a decent bench that can allow us to either go for it or shut up shop as is necessary. Rudoni is starting to be more influential again too.

Obviously it would make sense to start with the same team that has won the last two, but with it being four days after our last game and three days before the next, FL really needs to be willing to bring fresh legs on earlier.

What are the chances Sakamoto to get a third ridiculous yellow card in three games?

Were 5 points off and a +8 on goal difference what Sheffield united were this time last season.

Yes there hasn’t been the usual difference in class shown from the parachute teams and the usual suspects Norwich, West Brom etc haven’t been at it as much but to say this year is weaker is an easy cop out.

Unless I’m wrong they’ve pretty much got the same squad as last year bar a couple players who were sold?

I remember their obnoxious lot taking the piss out of us during our lowest times and the game where they nearly crippled Lamieres getting away with it not to mention their lot taking the piss calling us a feeder club when we lost Hamer and Ohare to them. Would love nothing more than to beat em Wednesday and keep them down because next season they could find themselves in real trouble.

A draw would be a respectable result, but if Boro can beat them then we should try to as well. Bamford will be keen to score against us and may know some of our tactics having trained with us. I’d use Onyeka to nullify the threat of Hamer. Think Lampard may rotate players due to the quick turnaround, but not sure who drops out and who comes in.
