Not bad for a teenage striker who hasn't scored a goal yet.

Being in the team isn’t an achievement for a multi million pound signing

Maybe it's rustiness but he's playing like he doesn't want to be here as well. Sloppy passing, trying shots when they aren't really on and not showing much leadership

Looked very rusty to me. He improved somewhat in the second half, but even then, his shooting was awful and he misplaced a number of passes.

Not the right person to be the captain.

Take what we can get for him in January and reinvest.

Sheaf needs to stop trying to shoot. It's one of his greatest weaknesses and his inability to recognise what his own strengths and weaknesses are hurt us when we get into good positions.

Seen it in plenty of players before when they think they've become too good for us. Start trying the spectacular too often, they still put in effort but play for themselves and the individual plaudits rather than for the benefit of the team and they nearly always play worse because of it.

Sheaf was always better at playing the supporting role rather than the main man in centre midfield anyway.

Its more the way Sheaf and Eccles shoot , they look to leather it . Top midfielders look to place it side foot into the corners especially around the edge of the penalty area

No top flight clubs will be looking at him if he carries on like this. Very far away from his normal standards.

He always lets himself down with 4-5 absolutely terrible short passes. He’ll never be a top level midfielder until that’s ironed out.

He's more likely to follow the Hamer and CoH route and play for another Championship yo-yo club.

True, if he can't hit target from the penalty spot he certainly not going to have much luck outside the box.

Generally, I think Sheaf is absolutely not captain material. Whether he can’t shoulder the responsibility, or what, who knows.

He’s either injured, readjusting, making suicidal passes that lead to a goal, losing it in key areas or just simply not having his head in the game at hand.

He’s a top 6 championship player, at his best. Or when he can showcase his skills, on a bigger stage. We do not see or get enough from him, I’m afraid.

It’s time he moved on, imo.

I could be wrong but he played today way off it. Wonder if he’s over thinking due to pressure (think Saddle said something about the internal pressure on sheaf). Seemed to be snatching at shots and imo wasn’t as calm as normal in his passing

Probably seriously regretting not pushing harder for a transfer this summer.

It wouldn't have made a difference. The demand for him was nowhere near what he, or many on here think it was. Despite what futmob says regarding his 'close passing stats'.

'£20 million+ to the PL' is now 'he's probably going to go to a top Championship team'.

The whole thing is a shit show. Now we are stuck with him as captain. If it's true they gave it to appease him for the 'it's him or me' thing with Viveash then it's even worse. Shite again today and needs to be moved on. Not a leader and the most overrated player I've seen in a CCFC shirt for a very long time.

Did anyone actually say he’d go for £20m+? You claimed it was £25m the other day.

Yes. It's been proved on the other thread.

Now we are at the 'he'll go to a championship yo-yo club' stage is quite the come down coupled with the amnesia. It's very strange how the over-hyping became so contagious between fans, and I'm actually not surprised it all went to his head.

Disappointed in him recently tbh

Was told he was a model pro through the summer but on top of his comments pre game and his general demeanour at the mo I cant help but feel his heads been turned

He was crap, slowed everything down to a snails pace. Should have been eased back in in fairness. Failure to get in another CM was another massive fuck up.

Not replacing Hamer has been a major fuck up. Agree he should have been eased back in we were told our entire season being successful would happen when he returned from injury, which was ridiculous considering how much has been spent.

All that money spent but a complete failure to even get close to replacing Hamer with all that time to do it in is embarrassing.

His passing has always been sloppy. Usually at a key moment. Lost count of the times over the last few seasons when he's had the ball around the opposition box and given it away or played a poor ball.

For the life of me I cannot fathom why he's lauded as this brilliant midfield colossus. I've never understood the adulation.

I'm not sure how you can try to deny those conversations took place given that you took an active part in them. He's also parroted a lot of what people have said as recently as this week.

As someone who has been fan-girling
him for a long time, it seems quite clear you aren't taking the reality very well.

As I’ve said elsewhere, he’s a player who’ll go on to play for a better team than us yet is apparently not good enough for us.

A bit like players like Jacob Murphy.

I'm sure he will become a Blade at some point in the future.

Personally, I don't view him as not good enough for us, just a player who isn't as great as he is made out to be.
