Doug, tell Wrexham we have a great centre forward by the name of Ellisimo Simminiski
If they're interested!

Good memories for us, but right that he leaves now. Especially if that money is going back into the team

Right now we need to improve the defence over having depth in midfield

I've got no problem with him leaving, I have a problem if we don't sign a replacement. He should've come on yesterday, I'd ask if you agree but doubt you were there, just sat on here and wanking at the thought of him leaving. You'll need a new target of hate for your dartboard.

@usskyblue you already seemed to be ahead on this. If you could help round up a few of the fanatics from the off topic to go with the Sheaf supporters, that would be great.

Shame it ends like this & the way it's gone the last couple of years. Makes sense to sell now but only if we bring in a real quality replacement.

I’ll miss him trying to run between two opposition midfielders, losing the ball, and then watching us concede through the resulting breakaway goal. Good times.

Assume his ongoing injury problems are worse than we thought. Hope he passes the medical.
At his best (before the injuries), Sheaf was without a doubt one of the best midfielders in this division. My only beef with him (like Grimes) is his lack of goal scoring threat. Grimes has looked a better player since he came in.
Our problem now is our back up midfield. We need to buy well or injuries could ruin our season.

Good luck to him. I imagine it will take time for him to settle in after moving abroad and learning a new language.

Let’s be honest 6.5 m for an injury prone player in the last year of contract and not starting is a fabulous deal for us. Sheaf has been great for us but not cashing in on this now would be criminal.

Good luck to him, appreciate the injuries have been more and more over the last couple of seasons but think he’s been a good servant and I’m sure he could have left before during the SISU days of flogging anyone when money was on the table.
Decent fee so like others it’s reinvested.

As long as he can pick up Welsh for a few key phrases,

'Which way to the treatment room'
'Apologies, I seem to have misplaced that pass'
'Shit, miles over from 10 yards'

He should be OK.

Like him a lot but just not been fit and firing enough for a couple of years and signing Grimes was probably the beginning of the end for him. Hope he enjoys the Hollywood life style

Possibly pedantry, but that's not true.

He had his best season before last, and it was only last season that he regressed.

He did, but the suggestion he was carried that season is wide of the mark. His fellow players who voted PotS at least didn't think so.

I’ve not said he was carried. Just I don’t think he’s given us the output overall that means he’s irreplaceable and with Grimes ahead of him he’s being asked to play a role that’s not quite right for him IMO. I think he’ll be an excellent signing for Wrexham, and has been an excellent servant and for large periods one of my favourite players in his time here.

If there were no injury doubts and he was at the level of the semi final season, he has been sold too cheap given he had 2 years left on his contract (1+ 1 year option in clubs favour). However, none if us have seen that version of Sheaf for nearly 18 months and to see him limping off on the first day of the season makes me think we have got the better side of the deal.

He seemed a decent pro and it will be interesting to see if the Wrexham medical team can get him on the pitch more consistently than we have managed.

Wish him well, apart from when he plays us of course!

Pretty smart signing for Wrexham, vastly experienced in this league and can hit the ground running. They only need to stay up this season and with the money they have coming in can afford this. Everyone’s a winner.

Does the medical involve getting on top of a sheep and holding on for as long as you can

I think after this season the financial regs will start to hit them if they stay up

On paper - O’Brien and Sheaf is a top central midfield at this level. If he’s fit Sheaf will be a class act.

Unfortunately he’s the same position as Grimes but Grimes is a better player

I think they're very similar in that deep, almost quarterback position, dictating the play, good passing range. Read the game wrll and intercept. Grimes fitness edges it and if we had to lose one, id say Sheaf because a few years younger and we can get a decent fee. Ideally, I'd keep both and move on Allen or Eccles instead.

How much damn money do they have,
It's like watching a rich kid teenager running through those football manager games running on overdrive to get a trophy for taking a non league team to winning the Premier league.
