Pretty much word for word what I was going to say. RS has admitted that he had very little time to work on things, so much of last nights performance must be accredited to Thorn in one way or another. Whether it's the squad and tactics that Thorn put in place or the morale boost because he has gone I am unsure, but very little of whatever was the cause can be accredited to RS.

I agree - why do they always allow the new manager to dictate who's going to be number two anyway - especially if the post is already sorted...

I agree totally with all of the above, however, Shaw did make 3 changes from Saturday, that was to move Brown into the middle and Edge coming in with Willis coming in at right back, Brown had a much improved performance and Edge was outstanding (MOTM in my opinion) and Willis done very well, along with the rest of the team being up for it!!!!

I wouldn’t going making any knee jerk decisions on the back of one win over a poor championship side, however, i would give Shaw a month and see where we are in terms of performances and obviously results, they make a decision.

Surely Shaw has already been involved in the coaching side of things? It is his job after all, so a bit disingenuous to say only had a morning with the players.

However he did up the tempo, getting the ball forward a lot quicker and with more purpose than we've been used to, didn't sit back on a draw, and made good and timely substitutions.

I agree with what you say. He would also have the advantage of knowing our players and setup better than a manager new to our club. What would worry me would be the so called honeymoon period and beating a team in bad form.

Shaw was a player I always liked. Always gave his best. He was with us for a long time as a player. I would prefer him to just about anyone connected so far with our club. I just don't want another AT situation. If we were going for an inexperienced manager I would like it to be Shaw or Wise. We will know a bit more when we have a few league games with him in charge. We have players good enough to beat anyone in this division. If we win the games with him in charge we will need to seriously consider him. Lose then look elsewhere.

I don't think it should be shaw. He had 11 years here and when People become managers they rarely leave on a good note. I think it would ruin how everybody remembers shaw... As a great defender .

Who ever comes in (providing Shaw does not get the job) will want to bring in their own back room team, so I have feeling he will be gone if he does not get the job
