I think it's fairly safe to judge based on that, wankers driving a wankers car like a wanker. Such a shame for the cabbie and two passengers.

Horrible when you hear he had called his wife to say he was on his way home soon too, 2 people who had been for a night out on their way home.

Could have happened to anybody driving the other way

I hate driving in general. Never learned until I was 30. Hate being on a motorway driving or as a passenger. I was in a car with my mate who thought it would be a laugh to go 100 down a motorway at night, ended up in a full on argument and I won't be getting in a car with him again. I get an absolute ton of abuse when I put my seatbelt on in a taxi, and especially when on a coach. Don't care though. Oh and country lanes at the national speed limit terrify me. People think they are invincible in a car.

And I say all this as someone who rode a motorbike for 8 years before learning to drive.

If one of those involved has already served time for driving at 130mph in a police chase then why has he even got a licence? Or didn't he have a licence and was driving illegally?

I see so many police programmes where drivers get 18 month bans for driving like maniacs. I would say if you drive at 130mph and cause a high speed police chase you should lose your licence for life.

I agree completely. Having a driver's license is a privilege not a right.

No idea.

I am guessing she was. I checked the papers and the net and couldn't find anything.

It was a stupid driver. One car coming from town past the Coventry Health Centre and the other car waiting to turn right from Stoney Stanton Road in the other direction.

Only one car coming from town, no queue, but instead of waiting until the car from town had driven past, the car waiting to turn right thought it a good idea to cut in and turn right BEFORE the car had past. In cutting the corner he had to speed up and he did miss the car by about 1 second, but an old Asian lady was crossing the road (probably from the health centre) and this car ran straight into her and threw her up in the air.

All for not waiting just a couple more seconds.

Yeah. They had to pretty much. Had no choice.

Stupid though. They weren't speeding, but of course had to speed up to take the turn to cut in before the other car went past in the opposite direction Had they turned the corner normally and just waited for probably less than 2 seconds until the car went past in order to do so, they would have taken the corner at normal speed and would surely have had time to brake.

Because they were speeding up to take the corner the old woman had no chance at all.

Minimum I would have said would have been a broken leg and head injury.
